It was really weird lying about not being Jewish for the first time. It kind of made me feel sick. At least I know what it is like to be discriminated against. It sucks.

I don't even really practice Judaism but I fear discrimination. This is what I live with in my daily life at work. I am certainly not the kind of guy to scream bloody murder and claim someone is an "anti Semite." I just want to get on with my life. So now I hide my religion from my coworkers.

I read one place it was lounge pants, and one place it was boxers. Lounge pants can be worn on the street and often are. They are full length and often plaid. Some are sweatpants. Being summer I would guess it was boxers. You're right though, it wouldn't have been allowed in the Plymouth colony, the third reich or Saudi Arabia. Execute him.
Are you really being discriminated against? OR are you practicing self-discrimination, through what you describe?
Why should you have to hide anything? As there's no proverbial "gun to your head" forcing you to.
I've never experienced anything like what you described, but personally I wouldn't bring it up. Then when they expose themselves by making a racist comment, make it known that you are Jewish. I wouldn't come out and say it, but drop a not so subtle hint (casually mention it in a conversation on the phone, pull something symbolic out of your bag, etc). I guarantee you it will be more awkward for them than it will be for you.
I didn't call anyone a nazi amigo. Nice try. It is NOT a privately owned aircraft it is a corporately owned aircraft and a public conveyance. The rules of the application dress codes are a little more complicated than you think. The application of the law will be handled outside this forum, but I bet USAir will end up paying up.Again, this wasn't on the street. It was on a privately owned aircraft. Nice red herring and example of Godwin's law though.
After flying with a captain that made a perticularly bad comment about Jews I vented in the company of my girlfriend, my brother and his girlfriend over dinner. My brothers girlfriend said "why didn't you say something" and added basically what you mention Emu. My brothers response echoed my thoughts exactly: "No, then his captain would be pissed about having a kike on the plane." Which is exactly my reason for keeping it all under wraps. There can be no good for mentioning it and I don't.
Its real its out there and it kinda sucks. I don't wear baggy pants...

I have a close friend that is one of those, and they get it from everybody.........I guess, unless you're with Jews for Jesus?![]()

Its unfortunate that you have to worry about what some would feel about your being Jewish. Its really none of their business and shouldn't affect them either way.
The only person who can be mad at you for being Jewish is Jesus....![]()

1. That was not my intent at all. If you can't see the difference sorry but it's wrong.Comparing to The Third Reich qualifies my friend. Regardless, USAirways has the right to set a dress code. I disagree that they will be paying anything. I hear there is video, hopefully it will provide some conclusive evidence, but you never know.
. I am fairly certain, this guy might have been a PITA, but this escalation is ridiculous.

I don't think LCC will be paying, unless they throw the guy some coins to make him sign a non-disclosure agreement and effectively close his mouth and any bad press he may bring. I'll gaurantee you though that the NDA will state that LCC is not nor does it admit any wrong doing.
But, Miked, Jesus was Jewish.
Sorry. Couldn't resist.
