Is the CL300 quiet enough up front to get away with a headset like the Telex 750, or would something with ANR be better, i.e. the Telex 850?
I could probably get away with talking a little louder than normal down lower, but some people I fly with feel it necessary to descend through the teens at 350 knots.

Using spoilers equates to wasting fuel, that's why people sometimes denigrate their use.
Edit to add; you edited your post. They waste fuel because you have used them to slow down, when the more efficient method would have been to pull the throttles to idle earlier.
