It's sad, but it's pretty much true. Anyone been to Vegas and seen those guys on the strip with the cards with naked girls on them? Yeah, we're pretty much handing out class dates like that.

Depends, I guess. If you're from OU or WMU, looks like you can have a pulse and a degree from their program and you don't even have to interview. Outside of that, I've seen everything from furloughed guys to low timers still. It's a crap shoot. And, yes, DTW is still junior and likely will be for a long time.

Officially, published mins are "1000/200." But an internal memo confirmed the Chief Pilot can still review a pilot on a case by case basis for interview purposes for those with less than 1000/200. And as mentioned, WMU and OU students with a pulse get handed class dates. Just apply, and see what happens. An internal rec may help especially if you are lower time, less than the 1000/200.

Whats funny is SkyWest is hiring...or trying...seems they cant find "qualified enough" people...out of every 10 interviewees, only 2 or 3 get offered...at least that was in February...but it seems like classes have halted since then...my dad always told me that the secret was to lower my standards...hrmm...maybe he was right...

Omniflight hired four guys for CPS recently...I'm the last of those, but I believe they're still looking for at least two guys for one of the New Mexico bases (PC-12), and there were three helo pilots in my class as well. Hiring may be suspended briefly during the Air Methods acquisition/transfer/whatever, but as I understand it, the NM guys are working double shifts and have been for a while. www.omniflight.com if you're interested.

How long to you upgrade to the 767 or 777? That's cool that you can start out in a single and end up flying charters all around the world in a 777. I didn't know Omni had PC-12s.

Where do you live? How much time do you have? Higher time then maybe it wouldn't be that bad. My self no way would I work at Gojet but having said that I also wouldn't work at TSA or Compass. I just have no want to ever work for Hulas.

Has Gojet offered you an interview yet? If they have, it can't hurt to go to the interview. Just keep your Eagle interview in mind as they are feeding you the kool-aid. I know you are desperate for a job I was furloughed from Eagle in 2009 and am trying to work on somethings for the 20 of you guys already on the street and the ones to after you also. I have a short (for me 13 hours) DTW overnight tonight but have two long DTW later in the month. I will send you a PM later maybe we can meet for a beer or six on me at the wheat and rye.
