Interesting. I haven't been in the loop on Atlas/Polar issues lately. How did you guys end up in arbitration? Was there an agreement on binding interest arbitration? Is it NMB arbitration, or a third-party arbitrator? Why did you guys decide to go that route? It's pretty unusual.

NMB. It's an amalgamation contract.

No worries. Oddly enough there are 3 things in arbitration: Scope, Information Sharing and Picket Lines. I think with the recent Scope victory at CAL, the industry trend toward Holding Company scope we might be in OK shape with that one. (I hope)

You guys should use us as an example, too. We got extensive holding company protections in our new CBA. The pattern is definitely there. Any good arbitrator should see that.

Well, it was in his hands prior to any of the 3 events we discussed. Post breifs are due mid Feb
 
By the way, Omni is hiring FOs at a pretty quick rate on the 757/767 and DC-10. Usually internal recs are required, but I've heard of a couple guys who've gotten calls without.
 
I've got 1400 and 800, what are my chances?

Posted minimums are 2000TT/1000 PIC (any PIC, not just turbine). They seem pretty hard on those numbers, but on the plus side I knew a guy in my class who had right at that. Another thing, I haven't met a person yet who doesn't have previous 121 turbine (I know you have that, but just for others). I don't know if it's one of those "unspoken minimums" or not, but that's just what I observed in my 11 weeks at the schoolhouse.

Anyway, I have nothing to do with hiring, and I have no idea what the plan is for classes or whatever. I'm just a guy sitting around at home quickly becoming non-current, hoping more people keep showing up on the seniority list below me. For whatever that's worth. I don't really fly or anything. Not even sure what I do here, exactly...
