Read this story about a proposed runway design at FLL. At first glance it seems "crazy", a runway that changes elevation 64.5 feet (1.3 deg over an 8000ft runway).
After thinking about it though, Seattle's runways are slopped at .8 deg and change elevations just as much:
34R TZDE = 346.8ft / 16L TZDE = 432.5
34C TZDE = 363ft / 16C TZDE = 429.6ft
34L TZDE = 356.3ft / 16R TZDE = 415ft
Might not be as "bad" as it looks at first glance:
