Tried to get to KGEY at magic hour -- was about 20 minutes late. You may know the story of Hawkins & Powers and their importance in the Greybull community. Duane Powers actually gave me my private checkride way back when (passed!). Some of these pictures are of their planes.

I'm sure you guys will be able to chime in with details on what types of planes they are and stories about them.

Is this in AZ? If so where?

I've been to AMARC and driven past Marana, but I've never heard of Greybull....I'd love to hit that up!

Greybull, Wyoming at the airport. Hawkins and Powers used to be a large aerial firefighting operation and primary employer there. They liquidated most of their assets a few years ago.

Marana/Pinal is always a cool place, gets eerily quiet there when the sun goes down there though and I'm leaving work.

Ahh, reason I asked was because of the old C-97's (I think) with the AZ Air Guard titles.

So you can just roam around this place for free and under no supervision?
 
mmmm nice C-97s. I have a special place in my heart for those. Would love to see one fly again but am not holding my breath.

What happened to H & P?

Sorry to see them go I guess, did it have anything to do with the in flight break up of one of their planes a few years ago? That sure was terrible.
