Republic CEO To Appear On 'Undercover Boss'

He seemed a bit cold compared to some of the other CEOs on the show. I don't believe that crap about "seeing the light" and having more kids either.

I don't know. It's a little over half way through here, and he's saying it's "thought provoking how on the edge some people are living." I don't buy that one bit. He knows how little his ramp, CSR, FAs, pilots, etc are making. It seems to me it's quite animated and he's just feeding lines to the viewing public.

Lastly, it won't be a part of the fabric that he is as a CEO. The day will come when HIS airline needs to save money, and he'll take 10% plus...

Call me a cynic.

I thought the same thing. He knows full well, how little his employees are making.

Who says they didn't? You think they wouldn't edit that out? Notice how he never spoke to any pilots either. Big surprise. It's all b.s. as far as I am concerned.

Frontier's capacity will rise 4 percent to 6 percent next year, mostly because it is replacing eight of its Airbus A318s with three larger A319s and seven new A320s.

i think they found every employee with a medical mj card for the segment at the end.

"we're going to give you back the 10% we took from you while i made a fortune, only instead of giving it back to you, we'll spread it out over 3 years so by the end of 2013 you'll be making the same that you made in 2008! can't wait for bonus time, i just saved frontier a fortune!"

crowd cheers.

This would be funny if it weren't true. Dead on post, man. Sad, but damn accurate.

Exactly what I realized before the crowd even stopped cheering.

It's all for the PR. I wish that they would have put some more light onto what the pilots side of things are like. Then again...they might not be able to get anything positive out of them for the show. :D

I also could have done without the endless religious "stuff" that everyone kept pouring out. I don't see how that had anything at all to do with the show.

That gave me several eye rolls as well. I view his stint on there as notihng but free advertsing that the gullible public will believe. It does nothing for the rest of his employees except the couple of them that he gave something to. I was secretly hoping that the entire lav contents would just spill on his head, frankly. That would have cheered up more than a few employees.

you should read some of his emails. he apparently is unaware he is running a company and not a church.

outside of denver, not many people know about frontier. i'm sure he thought the religious display would play well for many people seeing frontier for the first time.

the other upside for him is, he doesn't need to treat anyone fairly or pay them well. they don't need money, they need god. all they have to do is have faith and pray and wait for the big guy to take care of them.

that is the entire reason any of the ceos go on that show. i have no idea what that much commercial time would cost, prime time on a sunday night. going on that show is basically getting one long, free commercial.

i have no doubt that the producers work with the ceos to project the tone and theme they want to promote. the employees he was paired with weren't picked on accident, and i'd bet most of the people cheering the 10% "raise" were management. i'd be shocked if he didn't have editorial control as well, not one person was aired saying anything bad about him or the company. he just pointed out they were upset that they lost pay through the bankruptcy. they didn't lose it to bankruptcy, they lost it to him.

they steered well clear of mentioning his other airlines, much less trying to explain them or what he did to midwest. that might have contradicted the "holy man who just cares so much and wants whats best for his people" theme. i'm sure it worked on most viewers though. even someone here thought it was nice he "gave" them their 10% back.

Yeah. I pointed out to my wife that most people in this industry would be much more vocal about the 10% pay cut. That and 90% of the workers on that show do a really good job without complaining much. Anyone who works nowadays, especially in this industry, knows that isn't at all realistic.

Wayyyyyyyyy too much religion. I like how he gave that lady 10g's...to donate to a chairty!? I mean that's nice and all for the charity, but I'm sure the employee could have used that money.

Nah, they're getting 10% wage concessions back over the next three years...that'll keep them happy.
