Ari ben Aviator Flight School

Things are good here, with the exception of one of our daughters ending up in the hospital with Endocarditis last week. Long and sorted story better told over a beer:(

Me, I'm just doing my best to fly other peoples airplanes on their dime, as a independent Flight Instructor:D Working with one guy in my old 235 doing instrument stuff and have two more here on the airpark that want to get their instrument ticket.

So between instructing and going back an forth to Baylor in downtown Dallas (did I mention I hate driving in downtown Dallas) I'm staying pretty busy.

50% of the time building is safety pilot

Hurricane season won't effect you unless there actually is a hurricane that is close to Ft. Peirce.:D

I couldn't tell you if its packed up or not, I'm not there anymore. Most time building goes on at night, it's really up to you and how much you want to fly. I've seen people do it in two weeks but they were flying 10 hours a day

My record is 12.1 in a day. KFPR-KSGJ-KOCF-KFPR-KTMB-KFPR-KTLH-KFPR.

I enjoyed my Aviator time. It was many years ago though. It sounds like the same now as it was then. I made it take 2 years (wanted to have the time off from real work) but it can be done faster. I saw motivated people roll through pretty quickly. I enjoyed the parties, Friday night poker, cheap golf in the summer and the good friends I made there. There were frustrations but looking back on it, it was a positive experience. I wouldn't change the decision to go there if I could.

You certainly can't find a better price. The instructors are good. In my opinion you should never balk at a newbi instructor. They actually remember more and are more motivated than guys who have been doing it a long time. Especially in an atmosphere like that. These aren't Flight Safety career instructors. They're just there to get the time in so they can get a new job. In my opinion the best instructor is one that just got his ticket.

How is the new office? When I was there we were on the other side of the airport. I was one of the guys that ferried planes to Key West and Mobile, AL when the hurricanes came through there and smashed up the hangars and the old office. What a mess that was. Good times in Key West though. ;)

I liked the old building, but the learning environment is much better at the new building. Its just more comfortable, open and quiet.

I don't think you saw the old old building. I had the pleasure of hanging the drywall for that place post hurricane.

Recognize this?

Ha Ha, if you go into those rooms on the right you can see where I learned how to tape drywall :). I still remember accidentally throwing out a screw when I was hanging a piece of drywall. Then Mike yelled at me "Hey pick that up, that's money!"

Heard stories, never saw it when it was trashed. I can only relate to when I when I was there.

Here's a couple more of the destruction. The Vero boardwalk was trashed. I couldn't believe how much destruction those hurricanes caused.

I lived in the Vero Housing and when I got back there was a crab sitting on my front porch. It was still alive but it was PISSED!!!

In the background of the first picture is an old Pan Am flight school plane taxiing out. Now you're in their building. Aviator has come a long way.

I was at Ari Ben last year for my Multi Add on and to build time and was very pleased with the school. I'd highly recommend having all of your ground study completed before you arrive then the time frames they give you are much more reasonable.

Slightly off topic. Are there any JCers that are currently training at Aviator? More specifically, will any JCers be at the school next week Thursday or Friday (May 26~27th) ??

I'm going to be driving up to the school most likely on the Thursday to have a look around.

I'll be driving up from Miami, not Japan or Australia like my profile says! haha.

Hi Johnny

Thanks for the reply. Well if you hear an Aussie accent around the school on Thursday, please don't hesitate to stop and say G'day.

I'm aiming to be there around 11am, still finalising the driving details at the moment.

Sachi
