USAF MIG's?

There are a pair of older jets I've seen in the Philippines and other bases in WestPac that always seem to show up during exercises. They look similar to what you're describing (green and gray cammo) but the type escapes me at the moment. I'll see if I can dig up a photo when I have a little more time. They are both N-registered aircraft. I looked up their registration once and found a company in Deleware listed as the owners.

There are quite a few MiGs registered in the US.. some of the 15, 17, 21, and (1) 23 (that I know of)... in addition there are a few companies like ATAC that do military contract type flying - they operate Hunters, Kfirs, A-4s, etc...
 
Read the book "Red Eagles" as it will tell you all you need to know about the group out of Tonopah.

Back in 2004, my detachment was walking out to the airplanes for our fly-out to the boat for a WESTPAC. This was NAS North Island and I saw a jet come in for the break and as it did I got a good view of it, a Mig-21. He did a touch and go and flew away. Odd I thought.

They aren't MiGs...I looked them up once by N-number after seeing them in Clark, but I can't recall what they are. I've seen them all over WestPac for years.
 
I wonder if the Russians have a program like Red Eagles but with NATO aircraft. They could of gotten F-14s from Iran and F-16s from Venezuela and who knows what else from other countries. Everyone knows they got they F-117 from Yugoslavia a few years ago, so we know they study western stuff.
 
When I was in the swiss air force, we sold back to the US the F5, they painted them in Soviet colors, what they use them for?

Yep, that's ATAC. Registration notwithstanding, IIRC they operate them out of the PHX area, along with their A-4's and Kfir

ATAC closed up shop a while ago and their A-4s are all stored on the south side of IWA, unfortunately.

Speaking of Kfir's, the Marine Reserve unit VFMT-401 at MCAS Yuma used to fly Kfir's as aggressor aircraft in the late 1980s prior to getting their F-5s.

ATAC had one of their Kfirs at NTU about a week ago.

Small parts here and there......

The main wreckage they wanted to ship out......never made it out of the packing room in the basement of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade.

Those look just like what I saw. Thanks!!
They aren't flying anymore as the operation seems to be done, but are still parked on the ramp at Andersen AFB.
