Talked to Colgan...

Got an email from Chuck asking to call him but he nor Sara answered. I'm excited to hear back!

If he asked you to call and he didn't answer.....keep calling. Don't worry if you left a message......call again....and again...until you actually get through to someone. ;)

I know. Sheesh!

:)

I finally got through as well, so it looks like I will be up in LGA on the 9th-10th. Time to crack out the Dash 6 book again! :)

Got in touch with someone from HR, but they said they weren't doing interview pre-screening today. She said she'd call me back. I hope so! I'd like to catch the 9th & 10th interviews!

For those of you interviewing: a little heads-up. On average, most people who are failing the interview, are doing it in the sim portion. I would say, there has been about 50-70% wash out there. They are not looking for Chuck Yeager's...but you must, must have a basic instrument scan....and you must use it. If you crash, you're probably not going to get the offer. Remember, most simulators are VERY light on the controls.....so don't over correct your inputs. Niiicccceee and easy. :)

So my advice to you, is cooperate and graduate. They will provide a profile for you to fly....FLY IT. If you think you know how to do it better, that's great....but they want to see you fly the profile they provide. Get it?!?

I am assuming you made it.

I am assuming you made it.

A little more than that.

They also arent trying to trip you up in the sim. You take off, fly a heading and altitude, go direct to an NDB, figure out how to enter the procedure turn, fly the ILS.

The sim is so important because thats where it costs the airline the most. Ground school is pennies compared to the dollars it costs to rent a sim and give you instruction in it.

For those of you wondering where people are going, in my class we had the following breakdown:

6 IAH
4 IAD
1 BHB
1 PQI

This is on the Saab btw. Rumor is that the last 9 Q400s getting delivered next year will go to IAH (from MH's mouth).

Hooray for fresh meat in IAH...

How was this determined? Was it the oldest got their picks first or was it done off total test scores?

I don't know for certain. But I would say, with a very high probability...seniority dictated choice of base....and that's based on age w/in each new hire class.

It kinda sucks to be honest. Like 5 guys in my June 29th class wanted IAH. Only 2 got it, the rest went to IAD, SYR, and CRW.

Anywho, Ive been sitting here waiting for IOE for the past 2 weeks. Finally got it added to my schedule on the 8th.
