Comair the end?

Uh oh, I guess this applies to f/as too:
Hey guys and gals,
Hate to say this but just sat with an extremely high management. Tomorrow at 9:00 9:30 on Epic. He was not happy somber actually an actually admitted he is out of a job. He could not give details however in a roundabout way said many many many pilots are out of a job. Says and i quote, " Ive tried to see and put a positive spin on this and I cannot." " i feel horrible for our pilots". Many are fond of him however he is a straight shooter.
This is my third airline and looks like i will need a fourth.

So, when tomorrow happens, you're going to give us your name, your company, and your source? Care to come to a meet and greet? I'd love to meet someone with such inside information.

I've read the same thing on three different forums. But not on the ALPA forum, where people have to use their actual name.

Not going to say that this is going to happen or not, but really? Really? I've seen on forums where DL was 100% sure going to buy jetBlue, to where ASA was done, to Mesa was closing shop to etc. I hope it doesn't happen. Yes rumors concern everyone in this industry. I'll fly my next trip regardless with what happens as a true professional pilot. Life goes on and so will I no matter what happens.

Exactly. Normally I'm on board with Doug's policy of banning being for only the most severe offenses. But lately there have been an influx of people who are here only to spread rumors. Semi credible rumors are one thing, but when there are people who come and celebrate the fact that some of our own are soon to be out of a job...that's just disrespectful.

To you this job might be a cool thing to put on facebook to impress your friends, but to the rest of us its a means to put food on the table and shelter over our families' heads. Have some respect.
 
Hey, I am one of the people who will be out of a job too!! I'm concerned with answers just like everyone else. I'm not trying to be mean because I'm with Comair too!

You will have to go to the APC board where that quote came from. I just posted what they said. I didn't post it. I copied and pasted it here.

Hence why having flying as a primary means of income, may not be the good deal it used to be.

No doubt. I planned my escape and am so close to bailing, I guess the dream of paying my bills grew bigger than flying airplanes.

For some reason that still always makes me laugh... guess prob. wont ever grow up all the way, or land there with a straight face. What do you say after an exceptionally firm landing in Fukuoka? (Sorry i've been up way to long... so i drift)

Comair earnings set to jump
Johannesburg - Regional airline said that a review of its results for the year ended June indicate that earnings per share and headline earnings per share are expected to be approximately 22 cents per share.

This represents an increase of 21% in earnings per share, and an increase of 12% in headline earnings per share compared to the previous year.

Comair's results for the year ended 30 June 2010 are expected to be released on SENS by 15 September 2010.

You should have edited out the Johannesburg part...that throws it off for those who don't realize that Comair isn't a publicly traded company (it's owned by DL).
