And that's a good thing?
Yeah, if Joe blow 7-11 clerk gets caught with weed I say no big deal. But there's no way an airline pilot should be doing this.
Elaborate on this thought. Why should the airline pilot not be doing this?
You know what I mean and if you're questioning me you obviously don't agree and just want to start a debate. Neither of us are likely to convince the other to change their mind, so lets just leave it at
And for the record, I would be for legalizing it and taxing the crap out of it if it wasn't clear that its obviously quite easy to get it through less than legitimate means.
I'm not in any way saying that our job is more important, or that I'm any better than someone who works at 7-11. One of my favorite cultures is Japanese culture because they acknowledge that everybody plays a role in society and that no matter your job you should do it to the best of your ability. I really believe that.I just don't think that its valid to say that pilots should somehow be held to a higher standard than 7-11 clerks, or that 7-11 clerks are somehow intrinsically less responsible than pilots. Different strokes for different folks and all that stuff, and I know I'm not likely to convince you of anything, but saying that we have a moral responsibility as pilots to hold ourselves to a more rigorous legalistic interpretation of the law than people in other, perhaps less prestigious, careers seems akin to placing pilots in a more "superior" subset of the human race, and given our track record, is a logical conclusion that I think is invalid. Or to put it another way:
Seriously though, don't regional pilots get "wiz quizzed" regularly?![]()
Pot turns you into a maniac that rapes women for sport and kills men for the sheer blood lust. Everyone knows that.

In the immortal words of NWA, "...don't get high of yo' own supply..."
It happens, but in my pushing 3 years at mine I haven't had it done. Seen it done to others though.
Holy crap. Truck drivers get tested randomly by their companies very frequently. I imagine train engineers are up there too.
Maybe the regionals are afraid they'll lose all their pilots.![]()
So your saying if it were legal it would be OK?
I can't believe I'm the first one to mention that there's an open pilot job out there.
