With the A20 they've done both, according to the info on their website.

I gotta say though, never thought I'd hear "clamping pressure" and "Bose" in the same sentence. I take it you've never owned a David Clark? lol

DC makes great headsets that will survive multiple plane crashes, but wearing one for more than about 3 hours really starts to take a toll on my head. Since then I have upgraded to a Zulu and it has been worth every penny.

:yeahthat: Where did this clamping pressure with the Bose come from? Seriously!?!? I'd have to take my DCs off every few hours and would always get those rings around my ears after a full day of flying. With this Bose, I wear them all day and sometimes forget I have them on since they are so light for a full ear coverage headset.


I don't feel clamping pressure.

I took my headset to the sunglasses store to make sure I found sunglasses that fit under my headset.

The Bose fit great around my ears and cover everything.

The ANR works fantastic.

The only complaint I have is the price. Obviously, everyone will.

A headset is a personal choice. Sure, some headsets have actual problems or defects, but you don't know until you physically try them on. No person has the same head or ear size, or clamping pressure tolerance for that matter. The Bose work for me. (Sorry, had to put up some defense since everyone was hating on the Bose)
 
But do hey have ghetto bass if you plug in your iPod?

I can't be rocking Li'l Wayne when I'm raising the flaps on the runway without sweet, sweet bass, yo! :)

(Gosh I sound stupid when I do that)

let me say, that when I'm shopping for a headset I'm always on the lookout for a 3 crash survivability rating. My first couple were destroyed in their first crashes and having to buy a new set each time I crash a plane just gets old. I mean, I'd like to keep a set for more than a couple weeks right?

I still have my David Clark H10-60C model that I bought in 1999 and have used up until my wife bought the Bose X about 2 years ago. When Lightspeed offered a tradein for the Bose or the DC's I couldn't bear the thought of dumping my DC's.
Never had a clamping pressure issue with the DC's, that being said the Bose made my head feel like Shemp (who's head always wound up in a vise) from the Three Stooges. :bandit:

Oh, they definitely should last 3 crashes. They have for me anyways. When I go out to fly and I know I'm going to crash that day, I put my Zulu's up and get the DC's back out. Plus I can buy 3 DC's for the price of one Zulu, so it's easier on the wallet to crash with the DC's.
 
So Bose touted the previous headsets as the most comfortable ever. Now these new ones are even more comfortable? Does that make the previous headsets obsolete?
 
I really like how lightspeed will give you full value for a previously bought lightspeed headset when upgrading to the zulu. I presently have the 15XLs and they'll apply their full, original purchase value to the cost of a pair of Zulus..

Now to come up with the $500.. :o
 
I've had my Zulu's for 2.5 years now, and they are great, and Bose won't allow you to stream music via bluetooth. I can connect my Droid X and my Zulu and rock out with my.....well you know....really simple, no extra cables.
