Living near base- Commutair

Well when I interviewed I had 4000+hrs someplace like 4030 or something and 1100 hrs multi PIC. With jet and turboprop experience in the 91 world no 135 experience. ATP MEL COM SEL SES CFI CFII MEI. They really are looking at higher times versus their published mins. There are a few reasons for that. 1 because of the fallout from colgan 3407 and the FAA talking about raising the mins for 121 operations due to that crash. 2 because there are so many of us out here with thousands of hours that are on the street. I think the lowest time guy I have heard of interviewing lately is like 1800hrs or so.

There is a Macaroni Grill right next to it as well.

Most of my time is Part 135 VFR, so I don't have a ton of instrument time. I think I'm going to hit them hard as a refresher before I even consider putting in a resume. I do have a buddy that will walk one in for me, so that should help.
How are the Dash 8's equipped? Do they have glass, steam or a combination?

Hey man you should just go ahead and apply if you have 3000 hrs like you say in your profile then just go ahead and apply. How much multi? Any instructor ratings? Of course you should brush up on your instrument knowledge but the interview is pretty laid back. Really nice people I had mine with the CP and a rep from HR. It was fun and they really put me at ease.

I'll second that. You might as well just apply and get the ball rolling. You will have a good week or so to study up in the mean time.

I have closer to around 4000 and about 800 multi. I have my CFI but I let it expire earlier this year because I was in school, very busy and I just ran out of time. I have about 500 dual given.
From what i've read there is a test that comes from the ATP book on the interview? What else would be good to look at?
I also have some logbook updating to do before I can get my resume ready.
I think I'm going to get on it though.

its kind of a combination, they have EADI and EHSI but the rest are steam. the EADI and EHSI were like the 90s version of glass, you can put the map up on the EHSI and the radar and show your waypoints and stuff just like an MFD on glass. here's a link to a pic - http://www.airliners.net/photo/QantasLink-(Eastern-Australia/De-Havilland-Canada/0663518/M/

they also have dual FMS, and HUD for the captain as well.

How much time do all of you interviewees/newhires have?
i had about 2400tt and 240 multi when i applied, and no multi time within the past year and a half, but 1200 of that total time was hard core hand flying ifr part 135 time... in the interview they had just asked me about that job, as well as how my students and CRM stuff was from when i flight instructed. so they seem fairly willing to work with whatever experience you do have.

So they just interviewing into a pool right now? Any more talk of future hiring?

Don't even know if they are interviewing right now but with all of the other airlines that are starting to hire and other areas turning around I would be willing to bet that they will be running another class in the next few months. That of course is just a guess. No real info for you on that aspect.

AFAIK you can still get a pretty imediate interview. I wouldn't be surprised to see a class in late summer or early fall perhaps. Like Mattyt98 said. Hiring is picking up so that could lead to ome attrition here above and beyond the few pilots per month we lose.
