OMG, Marxism! I'm calling Glenn Beck first thing in the morn!
lol me too! He is gone for sure. I doubt the State department will ask Qatari government for a waiver, but it can happen. The purpose of DI is to avoid a tit for tat politically motivated stuff, not deliberate disregard of just and common laws. He will for sure be given persona non grata status at the least. What a fool, and what's up with detaining the other poor passengers for an hour? Another bumbling of the Tubstacking agency keystone (non)cops. What a joke.Thats just the movie I was thinking!
How is the guy who snuck a smoke NOT the bad guy here, and how is it that most of this thread makes it seem as though the TSA was in the wrong? I understand that TSA is generally a pain, but I don't understand how it isn't the guy who decided to smokes fault.
You had 9-11, Richard Reid, the underpants bomber - all leading to this. The guy smoked on a plane - but you can certainly understand the concern given the recent events. I understand the frustration with TSA and the inefficiency, and I also hate how we have become such a fearful nation - but this guy decided to smoke on the plane, broke the law and created this mess. Why is HE not the bad guy, and why don't we send Qatar the bill for the massive response?
