CFI needed in Houston (short term)

With your attitude, I honestly hope you decide to get out of aviation completly, or have something scare you striaght in an airplane with out getting hurt. Quite honestly, no one here cares if you are a member of MENSA, or the freaking president of the USA. You won't be seeing my resume for sure. Good luck to whoever is your instructor, they are going to need it.

What is the antidote when a pilot has a hazardous attitude, such as
"Macho"?

Sit back and realize that you may not be as badass as you think you are. Thats the antidote. Aviation can be very humbling.

I really don't understand all of the negativity. It seems that many of you are interpreting what he said as "I'm gonna be the world's best pilot from day one." All the guy said was that he's a fast learner and therefore spoon feeders need not apply. Most people who are successful enough in life to be able to afford their own aircraft are extremely intelligent people. Let's hope that he hasn't been so turned off by JC already that he won't come to us in the event that he needs help or clarification on a subject.

Yes, thank you. I apologized and cleared up my wording in later posts- so I don't see what just a few people here are getting an attitude about. As if I personally insulted them? Maybe it is the spoon feeders or people who had to be spoon fed who are becoming defensive?

I know very well that there is a chance I will get in my airplane and not 'get it.' If that happens, I will alter my plans accordingly. I simply want to prepare myself for success- and in order to do that I need a flight instructor who is bright. I need a flight instructor who speaks quickly and keeps moving. I need a flight instructor I am compatible with.

Again, thank you to all the people who have contacted me and given me a warm welcome to the aviation community.

4. What is your ultimate goal?
5. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen Swallow?

Curious... you're not the same Ted Wright from the place in Houston that makes all of the customized stuff, are you? You know... pens, flash drives, whatever. I'll leave it unnamed to offer some degree of privacy.

Just curious, since I think a church I worked at in The Woodlands ordered something from y'all once upon a time. Aviation's a small world, you'll find.

I was reading several of the old posts, catching up and ran across this and I just couldn't hold it in anymore. This guy makes me cringe. I can see Mr Mensa (as I'll call him) going out on a date now. Look at me, I own my own high performance plane, am Mensa recognized, ware name brand designer everything and don't have time for the small folk of this world. Dealing with them is bothersome because I learn faster then that can teach.

And in fact, call my number now (which I did by the way) and you'll hear more about me. I'm the President, CEO, CFO, COO, (and many other positions of course) of my own made up INTERNATIONAL AIRCRAFT HOLDING company. OMG, LOL, ROTFL, What a complete idiot. If you don't believe me, call it. He posted the number already so I won't again but call it and have a good laugh.

Oh my god, someone please tell me women are not stupid or shallow enough to fall for this. None I know are, but are they really out there?

I'm surprised he's not a doctor too. He has that attitude and as you know, student pilots (doctors or not) that have or get their own new high performance plane, don't last long. My heart goes out not to the CFI the eventually signs him off, and you know one will. This is an accident in the making and just a matter of time before Mr Mensa becomes a statistic and yet another NTSB investigation will be opened. The FAA might think about putting in place a new rule that will stop these "gifted" people from joining our airspace and doing damage to themselves & others.

Maybe there should be a "to smart to fly" test before someone solos. Hmmmm, What am I talking about, Mr Mensa would surely see through that as smart as he is and pass it as well.

Oh well. Kick the tires, light the fires, & be safe out there people.

Is this "MR MENSA" himself ?? Did you get a new screen name to "join in" on the fun? Or did you just pick this as your first post? If anything- welcome.. if your Mr Mensa himself, with a new screen name, and just flame baiting- then go back to your humble abode!....
 
Nope, not Mr Mensa, just a "normal pilot". I come in now & then just to read but this one just kept playing in my mind over & over, like a screwed up approach w/o auto-pilot.
I had to break down, join up & jump in.
 
Really one of the biggest problems getting someone through the private is usually knowledge. I have had lots of guys solo but not finish the private because they chose not to study. At least this guy will be studying, and that is a big part of flying. The stick skills will come with time, just keep practicing. Unless he is someone that lacks common sense or general motor coordination, it shouldn't be a problem to finish in 3-4 weeks.
