Has anyone here ever flown anyone famous?

Flew from LAS to LAX about 2 years ago with Tommy Lee and Tommy Lasorda in First Class on the way over and Joe Rogan and Viggo Mortensen on the way back. Viggo stuck his head past the galley and said, "thanks for the nice flight" which I thought showed class.

Had Yogi Berra after Christmas on a flight from EWR to PHX. That guys is a real sweetheart. He had to wait for a wheelchair for 2 or 3 minutes after everyone else was off but not a complaint out of him. He just smiled and talked to the crew.

I've never had him on my flight, but we get Leslie Nielsen on all the time out of PHX. Evidently, he always sticks his head into the cockpit and says, "I just want to tell you both good luck. We're all counting on you".

Since I'm not a pilot, I've never flown them, but I have vectored a few:

Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton (A1)

George H. W. Bush, Dan Quayle (A2)

Bob Dylan

Kenny Rogers

The Doobie Brothers

Thats cool he plays it. You would think he would get sick of saying that.

I now have a new career goal. I WANT THAT TO HAPPEN TO ME!

That is PURE AWESOME!

The callsign was a dead giveaway for the first two pairs.

For the others, remarks in the flight plan coupled with being told by the pilot who was aboard.

For the last one there was additional confirmation when the plane arrived on the ramp and looked like this:

That happened to two friends of mine at XJT. Pretty reliable sources.

Taylor Hicks (American Idol)

I flew him about a year ago however, I didn't know it until the FA's told me after the flight. I wished that they had told me earlier because I actually knew him in college. It had been about twelve years since I last saw him (his band and my band shared the same practice space in Auburn).

I've flown the Former Governor and Senator from Georgia, Zell Miller. He is a wonderful person to talk to. He's from the North Georgia mountains, a Former Marine and just all around good guy.

I never knew much about him growing up when he was the Governor, but I really got a new appreciation for him after he became an appointed Senator.

For those who don't know, he was the Key Note Speaker for the Republican National Convention in 2004 for George W. Bush...a Democrat delivering the Key Note for a Republican...and then challenging Chris Mathews to a duel at gun point.

I've also flown the infamous John Rocker, another good ole Georgia boy. He's about as nice as they come...even though he doesn't much care for New Jersey/New York.

I flew down to Ft. Wayne Indiana and pulled up to the FBO... nice looking private jet sitting on the ramp. I went in the FBO into the bathroom and almost bumped into a guy coming out. Finished my business went back into the FBO and said hi to the man and woman waiting there and proceeded to get gas for the plane. The couple left got in the jet and taxied away. I asked the clerk if they ever get anyone famous in the FBO and she said yeah... that was that puppet comic guy.... I thought for a minute... Jeff Dunham! didnt even notice him looks different then on TV.

Dennis Haskins
aka "Mr. Belding" from TV series "Saved by the Bell"

he was on our flight from PHL-JFK one morning, and gave the whole crew a autographed card with his signature, and a unique note to each of us with our names-it was a picture of him and the whole cast from the show.

Just saw the Milwaukee Bucks basketball team at Signature MKE before they hopped on a BBJ to Detroit. Also ran into the T-wolves at Signature MSP back when they had Garnett. I'm guessing the employees at big city FBOs get to see celebrities on almost a daily basis...would be an interesting job.

DFW-MSY, a few years ago, I shared the cabin with Stevie Wonder (and I'm a fan, so I was a bit starstruck).

But I can never top my Gramps who flew Eisenhower. (Gramps flew an admiral's Connie that was on the field and had to serve as an immediate replacement when Columbine II needed a part.) The thank you note from the Pres is his career's crowning glory.
