Haha, that's funny. I was thinking, I get 5/6 out of those. I'm missing the alcohol one .

Here's my outlook:

Vajay-jays are like city buses...you miss one and another one will be along 20 minutes later.

Just make sure you pick the right street corner to wait for one on and if you do get on the wrong one, its ok to ride it for a while, you can always get a transfer!

Possesiveness, jealousy and a lack of trust indicate worse troubles down the road.

Everybody has already said whats needed to be said here it seems. I have a good friend who is in your same position(non-pilot though). The only thing I plan with him these days is to plan on him not showing up since his girlfriend will probably demand he go elsewhere. He couldn't call or text our friend(a girl) when we needed a ride because his girlfriend would give him an interrogation when he got home as to why he called a girl. She's added every girl he knows to Facebook so she can monitor their conversations. And of course she is a total flirt, and while she doesn't cheat on him she sure as hell doesn't follow her own "rules" that he must follow. I mean c'mon, how can ANYONE put up with this kind of stuff?

I think its interesting that an abusive relationship(I do consider one person putting themselves as the top priority above the other abusive) is usually obvious even to the person taking the abuse. However, despite realizing the situation themselves and hearing input from others, many people in these said relationships for whatever reason just put up with it. Why? Do they tell themselves it will get better? Or do they perhaps just feel stuck and obligated to put their pride on the shelf and just dedicate themselves to keeping their partner happy?

I'm very glad to hear that you put your foot down and said "Enough is enough". I'd imagine it would have been one of the most difficult things a person can do. Cheers to you.

Good lord, I knock those out twice on the way to work. =)

Tell me I did the right thing.

OK, I was engaged to a beautiful, faithful and loving woman. She also suffered from huge amounts of possessiveness "if you want to go to the gym, what would I do home alone? - come with me - but I don't wannna!", "thou shalt not talk to other females" and the such. I didn't even ind that all that much, or the fact that she frequently went into my phone to check my messages. I wasn't planning on cheating anyways, though I would have liked to be able to have platonic nonattractive friends of the female gender.

I agreed not to pursue a job with the airlines so I would be home every day, which I also want myself. I thought about paying for the wedding by myself, for her debts, for a vacation in Greece, for a second wedding in our home country. But I got yelled at when I said I also want to spend $5k for my CFI. What topped it all was that I have no desire to remain for the rest of my life in my current career, although quite lucrative. The words of 'school', 'career change' would get her mad, because she thought I had it all sorted out already and not going to change anymore (I'm 30). I feel like I need personal evolution along w/ a family life, and would always support her if she wanted a change, or anything that makes her happy.

So finally, I told her I feel she's not respecting what I think and want, and that there is more to life than just being together. She's going through some tough times in her family, so I didn't want to have this conv now, but I did. She was also pissed that I wasn't romantic as I used to be and felt neglected and not supported through her stuff. I can agree to most of that, because I didn't feel like being nice when I had all this on my mind. It ended that I am me being an for humilating her in front of her friends 2 months before the wedding (invitations sent, some presents received already):(. Never mind that I invited some of my own friends, although 5 times fewer than hers...

As I said, I need some encouragement words. I could take some advice into the form "go begging to have her take you back", or the contrary. Going to find a beer in the fridge, or a case. Please be over 21 if you give advice :)...

Follow your heart, because when the dust settles all that really matters is if your heart is into something.

My old man, who was a pilot for "air america" gave me some great advice years ago. He said "Go to the airport". All is well =)

As chasen said, everyone has already given you some great advice, but FWIW, my $0.02: Nobody deserves to be treated with the kind of disrespect that you were on the receiving end of. You absolutey did the right thing and ended it. And good for you for not putting up with that BS anymore. That is some serious crazy.

...and the vajay-jays that are like city buses (dirty, hard rode, and with something sticky on the seat) do come along every twenty minutes. Quality ones are more difficult to find. But you'll find quality eventually. Give it time and enjoy being single....and now go have some fun riding the bus.
