I'll be home for Christmas

I think I've worked about ten days since the start of November. This trend doesn't look to abate until the new year.

should have pounded a beer as you picked up the phone :)

edit: nevermind just re read that it was before your release time....

yeah man i wish!!!! got a few days off starting Saturday and they had to call for tommorow!!!!worst part is its a quick flight out with like a 20% load followed by an empty leg back to base!! makes me wanna call each passenger and ask them to get on an earlier flight..i guess its that mysterious christmas eve bug that hit the guy who had the trip originally;)

Scheduling just gave me a 3 day trip in the morning. Plus I had ready reserve this morning. Fantastic! Ill be in SLC for Christmas.

you also forgot, "I will be on the road christmas day, but to an airport far away, to catch a flight that isn't going home, hoping the CA an FO are wearing santa hats (or at least one of them is), then turning around 36 hours later to go to vegas, but not sure what time, hoping space available, to then not know when I will officially be home....maybe i'll just stay in vegas forever." merry christmas.

At least only one of the three airports I'll see is located where snow exists...odds are good, but fingers are crossed

I totally did that today. Rocked my Santa hat and my black leather flight jacket.

Got a few chuckles and smiles in the terminal. Seemed timely to do something to lighten the mood- DFW is getting what NYC got last week.

... gonna do it again tomorrow. I'll try to get a picture. Merry Christmas!

:)

Not flying obviously in any of the poll options, but I'll be working on Christmas

1100-1930 Xmas Eve

Hey man, thanks for the short cut today!

The captain was being a drama queen about his commute and every minute counts.

On the road, 121,

but (knock on wood) - i have been assigned to a layover at home for chistmas day's afternoon/evening, then working on a flight in the AM on 26th.

Hope it will stay and scheduling doesnt change there minds.

Hopefully/maybe its good karma for sitting in the jumpseat to help some of our FA's get on the flight to CVG tonight. (I was positive space assigned a seat in the back originally for tomorrows work)

Woo hoo. Just got assigned a 9 hour ready reserve shift for tomorrow.....and I'm not even legal to fly since I'm sitting at 29.0 in 7 days. They can't even deadhead me to Huntsville to fly an airplane back. It blocks 1:03 or so. Merry F'n Christmas to me.

Boss said I would be canned and or I would have to quit to go home for Christmas. So, it looks like I am not going!

Ill be in SLC for Christmas.

See you there...I'll be wandering terminal 2 all morning scouting for santa hats, last minute shopping at the newstand, and trying to get to warmer environs

:)

happy to see someone else has a sense of humor during christmas travel
....pictures indeed requested.

Long story short I was denied boarding on SkyW because of WX and fuel into PDX. Me and 2 others were left behind. We all were Rev, I ended up missing the connection in PDX on Horizon. I called SWA got listed on the eve nonstop and rented a car and made it home to the MIL by 10pm. I can honestly say I gave better customer service to the boxes on my plane this week then SkyW did to me at the counter. Thanks SWA and Cat 3 appch I made xmas with the family!

Disregard.

Was reassigned, and now have to deadhead to atlanta.
No home for christmas :(

But joy for inflight internet right now from DTW-ATL!!!!

First time at home for Christmas in 3 years. A little seniority is nice. I did miss one flight to CLT on the 23rd...SWA captain beat me to the gate by about 2 minutes, and there was only 1 jumpseat on this particular Airways 737. No worries: Caught the next one.

how about the choice: "135 pilot that should be at home for Christmas but is stuck in the blizzard of the century in the midwest and cannot even get out of the motel let alone home because 2 feet of snow that have been blown into an 8 foot drift are keeping the motel doors from opening!" Merry Christmas to everyone. Mine has sucked. I got a call today that some idiot was drunk (speculating, because it was a hit-and-run) and drove through the front yard of my house and ripped out my fence yesterday (of course I'm not at home to see it... thank the lord my tenant told me, because I don't know how many days it will take me to dig out). Damn holidays. I have yet, in my 29 years of life, to have a good Christmas. Not once.

Had a little Christmas dinner by myself in the hotel room tonight, watched a whole lot of christmas movies too.
