SKYW Poolies - Some are going to class

They're not in line. Different company.

Guess that makes SkyWest the GoJet of 2010 to some of you.

Nah. I don't think Skywest or ASA was created to get around American's scope clause.....

Now, if they call guys in the Skywest pool before they even OFFER ASA fuloughees a shot at it (esp since most if not all of them already have CRJ experience), I'd call that pretty crappy on Skywest's part.

Agreed. I could see it happening though.

So how was it potential good news about a few meager upgrades/new hires devolved into name calling already?

Anyhoo...I really hope any furloughed guys/gals get a chance before anyone off the street. No offense to the 'street' folks but the furloughed types deserve the love first.

Just note who started it.

Recognize he's not an ASA pilot, nor a 121 pilot right now. . .I wouldn't worry about it.

If you're talking about me. It was a only a jab at how these threads always turn out that way. It was not meant to be taken seriously. Thus the following ":joke:people" disclaimer.

Not even close man. You know better.

Don't post that stuff online, people have gotten in serious trouble for it.

Post away. Besides, what is Skywest going to do to folks that don't even work for the company? JC signed no disclosure agreement.

If I was an ASA furloughee I would wait til ASA calls back, which I think shouldn't be too long from now. Seems like almost every regional in the industry is calling back.

There would obviously be lots of variables to a pilot in those shoes but at least on paper that would be my take too. If I believed my company would recall me sometime in the near future I would probably stick with them rather than reset my senority someplace else. Especially at a regional level.

[modhat] The obvious intent of this post is to flame bait. Do not continue down this path. Thanks! [/modhat]

If you could fly the Brasilia with that beard in your avatar that would look cool. (I used to have a goatee, but I think the company would frown upon it if I tried today.) Are you back online now?

Sorry about the hijack. . . . talk amongst yourselves again. :)

January...I almost came back in December, but then I recovered from a terrible lack of SA...Why come back to train and sit whatever RSV they assign me for the holidays?

As far as the goatee, I do miss it, but it would not be approved, even for turboprop trash.

OK folks, nothing to see here, move along!:D

Careful Doug, you and I might not want to burn a bridge with a potential FO job with Skywest......

:D

No, don't worry. . .wasn't you. Looks like it's already been addressed though.

I got love for you subpilot.

Wishful thinking of course.

Passage of PBS, which is being shoved down everyone's throat before our current MEC officers leave, would severely hinder the return of the 156 guys on the street.

The "growth" myth is being swallowed hard.

It's only 16 people. I'm pretty sure they're going to go to the poolies first since they're already hired, then the UA furloughed, ASA furloughed then street people.

poolies are not actually hired. You are not an employee until you enter class and are assigned a seniority number. Passing the interview process doesn't mean much in this industry

It's kind of like getting a check from somebody. Until hat sucker clears and the money is in your account it's just a pretty piece of paper with some writing on it.

Dont take this the wrong way Marcus but its easier to say that when you are not on the street nor have never been furloughed.... :(

ASA was the last to furlough, they'll be the last to call back. And with PBS being shoved down our throats. I doubt they'll be recalls anytime soon.
