It's a weird habit.
It's a paper we all complain about but I'll bet you more airline pilots have one stashed away in their flight kit that are willing to admit.
I prefer the IHT when I'm on the road overseas but something about colorful factoids, cheerful diagrams and small topical articles about important, complex issues just brings a little bit of synthetic sunshine when you're bored to death inflight.

If only John Q. Taxpayer had a clue how much of their hard-earned tax dollars are wasted on useless programs.
I'm aware of a few that I view as rather useless... and I'm scared stiff that they're only a tiny fraction of all the useless programs undertaken by the gubmint. Hrmmm... maybe I should open a government contracting firm.
And without the Xword puzzle for long turns, the regional pilot job would be unpleasant.i use the magazines for miles deal to get the WSJ free. But yeah, hard to argue with free when it is sitting outside your hotel room door.
Heh. I wondered who else would notice that. Jetways obviously designed for RJs, ramping down a whole 6 ft to ground level. Pure genius.those jet ways are complete over kill in pln.
