I disagree I know quite a number of pilots that were hired at mins if not around 1500tt.

Like you said tho, don't know till you try.

I am hopeful, and even catch myself sometimes "daydreaming" of getting out of here and going on to something in furtherance of my career and progression. What I was saying is that I'm not holding my breath because I don't want to be "crushed" if i don't get the job. I have submitted my application/resume and am waiting to hear something. I'm also going to be calling them tomorrow to see if there is any news. To anyone else applying, I really do wish you the best of luck.

The last time AMF interviewed (in PHX a couple of months ago) a friend of mine and myself were invited to the interview. I had more than 1200, but he only had like 1190.

I hear ya! Good luck too. I wasn't meaning to sound rude by disagreeing. Just providing more detailed info. What base are you applying for? Good idea to follow up.

I interviewed at the last event in PHX with about 1300 something. Wasn't not offered a class date then, but told I was in the pool, whatever that means now I have no idea.

I'm hoping PDX mainly because of the cost of living issue. I just spoke with the hiring dept. and they are going to set up the tech interview and sim but I don't know when or where yet.

Congrats. If you haven't already, go hit the sim for a few hours with a CFII for a little refresher on charts, IFR procedures etc.

Thanks, I will get the sim time for sure. Luckily my roommate is a CFII and free access to a simulator at our work. My biggest worry is NDB stuff. Gonna really hit that hard.

Hey whats all this talk about CVG!?!?! I'm based out here, (well in BHM) fly 5 hours a week, 20 hours of duty a week. And wait IM HOME ON THE WEEKENDS (in CA)!!! Now I dont get EMB120 pay anymore and who knows when this run is going away. But ya CVG is a crap hole.

We got captain contradiction over here! :D

Does anyone know Ms. Hudson in the Flight department? If you do and wouldn't mind, could you please PM me her first name and email? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

The flight dept is doing the hiring. You back in the tah for Christmas?

Is she doing interviews then? I did my interview with the director of training, but I was also interviewing for a training captain position.

No Utah for us. We're not from there, we're from Michigan, so we're home, though we'd love to be back there right now. Brighton got 52" in 72 hours!

I can't see SH doing interviews or anything to do with pre-indoc new hires. Hiring still goes through flight, not sure whose in charge tho.

Oh how I don't miss actually having to do NDB approaches into podunk airports anymore.

I thought I would chime in my two cents.

-I was hired in 2005 and even at the time the regionals were hiring I STILL had to call whoever that blond chick was (joani?) and smooth my way into an interview (I didn't live in a state that AMF even flew near).

-If you study your arse off you will get hired. AMF really likes to throw crap to the wall and see what sticks 5 out of the 14 in my class ever made it through training and past Bob.

-Do what Bob says, and remember that there are stupid questions.

-Be prepared to give them your life for the next 6-24 months. If you have your life packed in your car the day of training that will serve you well. But you can work with them. If you do good in training and are reliable you will see things go more your way. For example, I got into a base that I shouldn't have been able to hold waaaaaay earlier than I ever should have been able to (never) because I was a willing TDY biatch.

-I've grossed over 4g in a month in a chieftain.

-I turned down two flights while I was there and never got even a hint of grief/pressure.

-If you can hang doing single pilot freight in some of the worlds highest time airframes, you can hang anywhere. Jets are eeeeeasy after this.

-Its great experience, I never had a problem there. You will fly tired, and in very difficult conditions. But once you're done you will be glad you got that experience.

Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I actually do live rather simply. I can be the road in about 3 to 4 hours if needed. You said that you had atleast once a month where you made over 4g's. I thought you are on a salary?? Is there a possibility for more flying with extra pay?? We'll see how it goes, I should be hearing from her on Monday or Tuesday. Thanks again.
