flight express??

pay is as advertised. as far as runs, like what was said above, i think cps needs an extra guy, as does ads and oak. i think ads is already being taken by someone already at the company though.. all heresay. that's about all i know..

The advertised pay is $23K-$43K. I was just wondering if all the new guy runs are the low paying end. I read earlier that you could make towards the upper end of the scale on your first year if you don't care what base you get and you don't mind working a lot. I was wondering if this is still true. Do you think there will be runs for new guys available that pay $40,000+?

If not 40k, probably pretty close to it. When I was there, there were a lot of 11-13 hour duty days. Not too many 14 hours since if anything goes wrong, you're an instant bust. It is definitely base dependent, but again if memory serves, the northern bases seemed to have almost entirely long duty days, whereas FL might have more short days mixed in. Usual boilerplate about this information being old and the product of a senile mind applies.

I remember scoring 745 about a month out of training. way to awesome! That was back when MKC was closed to most traffic due to construction, and the FBO was pretty much mine!

To the OP - Boris speaks the truth. he and I did a LOT of TDY down at FLX South, and most of the runs were much shorter days. but, when based in CPS and BNA, I almost always had max-pay runs, or close to it.

Even CPS is pretty full up. Right now most of the runs out of CPS that a new guy can get are min pay. There are 3 runs in CPS that are long duty days and 2 that are min pay and 1 run that only goes 3 days a week. If I remember correctly we have the longest runs...DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT. It's been awhile since I have seen what all the runs look like.

Most of the California runs are pretty similar but not that close to 40. Closer to 30 though.

Anybody gonna be there for the NOV 30 class?
Ill be flying in and wont have a car to get from the hotel to the training center.

For anyone who has been to class recently, would the hotel van be able to take me? Is it w/in walking distance?

Thanks

If they are still putting you up in the extended stay then there is no way it is within walking distance. I haven't been down to Orlando for awhile though.

There will be some poor sucker with a car, you just have to find him. You can always take a cab from the airport to the hotel and start the search there...

Supposedly when they moved they lost suitable space to do class in so they use the conference room in the hotel. They starting doing that in the class after mine a year or so ago.

I'm guessing they still have them go to ORL for the sim eval and some other junk.

According to the email I received class and sim are right next to executive airport and the hotel is the extended stay, which is 9 miles north. Definately not within walking distance.

I'm not saying that the e-mail is wrong necessarily but more than likely they just chose not to change it. I specifically remember my e-mail said that they put you up in the hotel with a roommate and that didn't happen for me or a few of my friends that have been through since.
