Republic airways pilots??

I'm hesitant to respond with a yes because I can just see myself getting a pm:

"question: how can you sleep at night?"
 
Not really sure what all of the previous posts are all about. I just wanted to network with someone who works there.

The reason for the previous posts is in regard to the 23-37 dollar pay rate for E190's and such. It's not the pilots fault, but it is an embarrassment and I vomit in my mouth whenever I see a Midwest paint scheme on a Republic airplane.

Anyhow, you looking at Republic for the bases?

I vomit inside those airplanes with Midwest colors....might be the cookies though. I wonder about those things.

And at Republic, ALL your base belong to US.

Plan on being a commuter....and if you get lucky and get based at home, plan on getting displaced.....to become a commuter.

*rolls eyes* Maybe republic cookies suck and make you puke. The original Midwest cookie and people were what an airline should be all about.

To the OP, if Republic grows, which looks inevitable, getting based at home will be easier.
 
Yes, it is mainly for the base at MCI.

I am a KC native, and would love to be based at MCI eventually (long ways away)

Yeah I'm a big big fan of KC. Used to spend a lot of time in Olathe.

Anyhow, Republic may be a solution for you, keep you eyes and ears open though. Right now there aren't many opportunities and by the time those jobs open up Republic or you might be in a different position.
 
Who knows if we'll always have that base anyway. They like to play musical bases here like a bunch of 1st graders. Here today, gone tomorrow. But one thing for certain is that "displacement vacancies" will staff the bases.

Today talking to a passanger headed to MCI on OO who usually flies YX, I threw up in my mouth when he said "I'm glad they dumped those tiny little Boeings for these sleek new bigger jets."

Of course they are bigger planes. The engines are under the wings.

Noooo.....there's no negativity here!

It is true though, that you can never count on a base still being there in a few months or better, a few years. Especially here.

And all it would take for Republic to really become a great company to work for is a great contract.

Haha...thats funny. The 170/190 are definitely more comfortable than any other regional aircraft, but I wouldn't put them above any mainline bird. I like not having a middle seat though. Everytime I've gotten the middle seat, its usually been between two people who hog the arm rests and cramp my personal space. I'll take a window or isle any day, and the 170/190 offers only those options. So I can see why a frequent traveler would enjoy the seating.
