Wow cant believe I missed this earlier, just happend to look at his pie thread a few minutes ago. I always enjoyed talking guns with Ben in the lavatory, he was giving me some tips on building an ar15 a few weeks back. Hopefully a fund gets set up for the family, I'm in for a few bucks forsure....Rip brother.

i don't even know what to say, i didn't know Ben personally, but on multiple occasions i asked him for advice on things aviation related and he helped me a lot when i was in rut
HERE is to you and you will always be remembered R.I.P Ben

Re: Plane Crash in Provo, Utah

RIP partner. Was great talking with you here.

As an aside for all, get used to this in aviation. Flying is one of those activities that comes with so much joy, fun and challenge; yet can turn and bite anyone of us with little to no notice....whether by our fault or not. Sometimes we're able to overcome it, sometimes not.

As I've always said here regards aviation:

"Anything and everything can happen at any given time, with or without prior notice....."

Enjoy the skies for eternity partner. :(

Two of my former four instructors are dead. Both airplane accidents. It hit me very hard when the first one went, and was in shock when the second one went also. I wouldnt go any other way. My roommate and I were discussing this very issue over lunch today.

This is terrible... Ben really helped me out awhile back when I was trying to get set up with the UVSC/UVU program... Not sure how to react yet..

Horrible news. A gentleman, and a great contributor for his fellow airmen. I was expecting him to chime in on the DA 42 thread. God bless his wife, kids and family.

Remember how when MikeD was in Iraq for Christmas and we all rallied together to send him a care packet - we ended up sending over something like 11 boxes. I think (although it is early) we should have our Christmas fundraiser for Ben's family - considering how much free help Ben provided here, I think a lot of people should donate the cost of 1hrs of flying - I am sure he saved many people a lot of money!

Im still working on it. I know a guy who knows his boss. I can't get a hold of him to get a hold of the boss.

Ill do my best and keep people posted.

That would be most excellent!

When we find a to take up a collection for the family, we should all change the signatures in our profile in an effort to get the word out as soon as possible.

The family should know that his other family is praying for them.....

RIP, Ben. Thoughts to his family and close friends.

I have only spoke briefly with him at an NJC, but from his presence on the board it will indeed be missed.

Great idea. I would be eager to do something for the family immediately and then again for Christmas.
