Some of us stopped being members when we really sat down and thought about how our membership dues are being spent. While not a current member, the perception the public gets from AOPA has an effect on all of us.I don't know why people, especially the ones that aren't even members, care if AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) buys an economical people mover that they require for business.
No. No it doesn't. Especially if you're a member, then your membership lapses and you're now a former member.Plus, if youre a member all you have to do is call AOPA and tell them to quit sending you letters and calling and it will magically stop.
Somehow they found me at my new address and phone number, too. That's an awful lot of time and effort (not to mention postage) to track down someone that has told them he isn't interested in re-joining. I'd think their efforts could be better spent elsewhere.
Fair enough. You're more than welcome to support organizations any way you desire (legally, of course). In my opinion, they aren't protecting my interests and I can't support them financially. I'll also continue to be vocal about how they're spending the money they "make".AOPA's product is protecting GA which I'm willing to drop 30 dollar's a year on.
Because I have the ability to discuss AOPA (even negatively), I have the responsibility to do so. This isn't a case of "if you can't say anything nice...".
