A crazy night in Titusville FL

20V, the same aircraft that had an engine failure after take off in Vero. That was a different problem however; the gascolater was allowing air into the fuel lines creating power surges.

bLizZuE, glad nothing bad happened. What was the student's reaction? BTW, I guess that's why FSA makes us know about the Piper External Power Source in the a/c written. So some dumbass doesn't hand prop a cadet/arrow and have the same result.

That and we wouldnt let you hand prop it even if you were in PHK :P

20v, yeah Ive got about 30 hrs in that plane, I never liked it.

btw I might be flying into Vero on Sunday on a Cit. VII.

This incident was the fourth time this exact scenario has happened to me. Power loss shortly after take off in our Cherokees. The students always react the same.

I call for the controls, they let go, a little shocked. The first thing they all have asked 'Did I do something wrong?'

Nope! You did everything right. Just sit back, and be quiet :)
