MEXICO CITY - An AeroMexico passenger plane was hijacked at the airport in the Mexican resort of Cancun on Wednesday and flown to Mexico City's international airport, where most of the passengers were reported to have been freed.

A Telemundo producer said the hijackers apparently were three Bolivians who were asking to speak to President Felipe Calderon.

Transport Minister Juan Molinar told Mexican radio the aircraft had landed safely. The Boeing 737 carried 104 passengers, according to local media reports.

The reports said most of the passengers were freed.

All flights destined for Mexico City were being diverted to other airports.

According to CNN, the hijackers waited until the flight landed in Mexico City before taking control of the plane. Glad everyone is safe.

The airplane has been secured already by federals, and all passangers have been taken to the terminal, they have arrested 7 to 8 possible hijackers unknow nationalities media says are bolivians or colombians...

O great...even though this is totally unrelated the TSA is going to suck for the next month.

Glad to hear everyone is ok though.

Perhaps this will serve to remind the public that airline hijackings were a threat BEFORE 9/11 and will continue to be so afterwards.

Just another one of the daily possible threats to our well-being that pilots and FAs deal with all the time.

Yep. Hope Congress is paying attention.

All's well that ends well I say. At least they didn't have a real bomb or actually try to take over the cockpit.

Oh they are. They are already coming up with new ways to moles...I mean improve security

I'm going to enjoy the first time somebody decides to unnecessarily "closely inspect" me.

I intend to make a public spectacle, or at least make the TSA agent in question feel just plain dirty for doing their job.

When I flew from IAD to MDW on WN they not only TSA'ed us like normal they also did random screenings during the boarding process. Absolutely retarded.

Pretty much. I will say this: The TSA finds more than they talk about.

The fact that they harass a small number of us who have already been extensively screened makes it easy to question their role.

>Shrugs< I find them inconvenient and annoying because I obey the law. I like to poke fun at the seeming nonsense they release on us. They do, in fact, often operate in an inconsistent and nonsensical manner.

For those who do intend to do wrong, I'm sure they're just as infuriating.
