I've got a suspect list of reasons why lightning likes us sooo...

94 foot wings with rubber boots doing 280+ indicated.

two 13ft,6in 6bladed composite props that arn't really bonded.

Large kevlar/composite nose, wing tip, and tail surface area that does not have an internal bonding system...(like wire mesh)

A wing with a high reynolds number... keeping the boundry layer close

Operational altitude is between 15 and 25000 feet, where the highest percentage of strikes occur.

i have actually seen the airplane dischage in flight. looks like a fir tree shaped flash from the wing tip. I've seen arcs run along the windshield for 1-2 feet. Props glow enough to read the paper in row 7...

Every time we hit moisture in the air, the airplane whistles in the cockpit... I'm sure that is somehow involved.
 
I had never been struck by lightning in 8 years and 4500 hrs worth of flying until on the Q back in late February. You'll get yours soon enough Chad...
 
I'd say its probably for someone in Asia or the Middle East. I know Air Philippines has a bunch on order to operate as PAL Express for Philippine Airlines, and Royal Jordanian said they were going to get more too.

Ah I miss speculating on stuff like this, just like the good ol' days at Jetphotos.
