The big difference is that scope at FedEx and UPS is locked in solid. It is highly unlikely that AMF will be flying anything larger than a Brasilia for UPS and it's highly unlikely the largest Fedex feeder will be an ATR or something similar. While the largest regional aircraft comes eerily close to the size of a 737.
Well they did relax some scope though. UPS did their own flying back when they first started operating their airlines. A lot of the metros that AMF have tail numbers actually are in XXXUP or XXXDH. I wet dream is that UPS buys AMF out and do their own feeder flying again. It will never happen.
But they outsource! They outsource to Amflight, Airnet, Mountain Air Cargo. Hell, those ATRs should be flown by Fedex pilots! I don't care if it has a prop.
