Pubnat 5/6

Yeah, I keep checking my e-mail compulsively, hoping that I'll get an invite (IF I'm getting one) before the weekend...it's almost like a sickness, lol.

Yeah...less than a week is kind of jumping the gun.

Just so you know, the list doesn't just get sent to HR where it is promply plugged into the system and emails are sent. The process of inputting the information, formatting and sending the emails is outsourced to another company. The process may seem simple, but the sheer numbers make it very difficult. They simply don't have the man power and when you get further along in the process and your paperwork is repeatedly lost in the shuffle, you'll understand why they hired someone else to do it for them.

Also, this is all assuming that they have even sheduled the PEPC(s). They most likely will not send the emails until then.

I hope the emails aren't sent out in Alphabetical order or I'll be one of the last :(

Re: Pubnat 5/6 *vision requirements*

Does anyone know the vision requirement for both enroute and tower. I was reading on OPM.gov that your corrected lens vision cannot be over +/- 5.5 diopters. That can be found on box of contacts. If this is the case, then I wouldnt qualify. Does anyone know if LASIK would be an acceptable alternative to pass the eye exam?

The only vision requirement I know of is at least 20/20 vision corrected. My old college roomate had Lasik and is currently a controller, so I can't imagine that it is disqualifying.

To be sure about what you're asking though, I'd check out this section of the website and post your questions there: http://forums.jetcareers.com/ask-flight-surgeon/

You won't get an email if you aren't selected; it will state that on ASAP though.

But it won't do it right away. It will take a few weeks to show up on ASAP. If you didn't get selected you'll most likely know when this board lights up with !!! for 5 straight days and you don't have an email.

I've gotten nothing yet. A guy at aviation careers told me that if you haven't heard anything by the beginning of June that you can call and they'll verify for you.

This is correct, I should have made my other post more clear. ASAP WILL update, but it won't update until a few weeks after everyone else has already received the email.
