Starting a thread for those of us who were told we will not be slated till next fiscal year (Oct. 2009) or later, so we can keep each other updated and figure out which facilities are in this same boat and if that changes over time for any of us.

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

Good call, But I doubt much is going to change for us in the next few months unless the ATO comes through with getting us in OKC faster than projected. I'm gonna be optimistic though.:buck:

Good idea.. Keeping my fingers crossed but not holding my breath. This has been a long process but it's worth the wait..

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

This will be a good thread for the future PUBNAT folks to reference when doing Geo Prefs. Don't apply for any facility listed here unless you want to wait! :banghead::banghead:

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

True story. I received my first pick of facility - HR redirected me and has been very kind to me, and I know it's not their fault - just the ATO that needs to get into gear, so I will be humble and patient, especially with HR. All of us will have our turn soon enough.

Just got an email today saying I will be contacted in Oct. for a class date.:banghead:

Hey folks!

This post is only for people who applied for PUBNAT2 and not 3/4. Did you get passed over for 2, but randomly picked up for 3/4? If so...

Was is the same process as a regular applicant for invites? I am assuming that you did not get a Geo Pref email, correct? When they emailed you, was it any different than a 3/4 person's email? How many of you are there?

4 was our only app and it sank. So getting 5/6 randomly is my last chance.

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

I'm optimistically waiting for October to come around... Birds will sing, the sun will shine, and maybe I'll get a class date. I've been assigned to FSM (Ft. Smith, Arkansas) There are 3 of us OTS that went to PEPC's at the beginning of the year & 1 already got a class date, myself and another guy are still waiting.

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

From what I understand class sizes are about 25-30 for each class date. I wonder how many of us are out there waiting and what the math looks like.

example: if there are 300 of us waiting & 2 classes starting per month only 60 of us will go in October. (These #'s are a guess, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, or if I can't do math)

Hey there, I am from PUBNAT4, didn't know the whole process and I got really lucky because I didn't apply for any other announcements but got picked up at my 1st choice facility for PUBNAT4.

To answer your question - I believe 2 was the same process as 3/4. I think 1 was different. Anyone feel free to chime in and correct/clarify.

The process has been pretty much the same since (dare I say it) before PUBNATs existed. I applied to a state opening for Oklahoma back in late 2007 (obviously didn't get picked up, but that's another story).

After that I missed PUBNAT1 but managed to get my application included with PUBNAT2, which is when I finally got selected. However, during this time, I've had to jump through numerous hoops, and yet I still don't have a class date. I guess they're just trying to make sure that I REALLY want this job.

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

Er..sorry...that's not what I meant.

I know the process...I just wanted to know the process for someone who got selected for a PUBNAT that they didn't actually apply to. It does happen.

When you get on the ref list, it is good for 6 months and it is possible for my husband to get selected for 5/6, even though he didn't apply, because he is on the ref list from 3/4.

Meh...I guess I'll have to go back and read through the 3/4 thread and find those folks. That's a project for the weekend.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen. From the person I spoke with at the FAA if you are not selected to the Pubnat you applied for, the application is discarded. That is why they encourage you to apply to every announcement. If you don't make the first one it's possible to get picked up in one of the later ones as long as you applied to the current announcement.

Oh I see...a cunning plot to make me do on Tuesday what I was going to put off until Sunday...

I concede that your source may be much more informed than your run of the mill HR phone answerer, but I asked about this and here is my email response:
"The referral list is still open and applicants are being considered for positions as Air Traffic Controllers. The referral list can remain open for up to 6months from the time it was created, which was in Jan. Your patience is appreciated. "

I know that it is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a long shot...but I am still holding out.

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

I had not heard that before. From what I was told, and what I've read here and other places it always sounded like if you were not picked for your specific Pubnat that you would not be considered for any further pubnats without applying for them.

Apparently the FAA likes to keep people guessing.

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

Prominence,
Sounds like we are twins. I'm delayed like everyone else til at least october, and also for CMH Tower. Did you do a PEPC or Traditional?

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

well slate me on the "screwed till october" list. I e-mailed HR and got the terrible news.

anyway an interesting thing i heard from the eastern medical department.

I retook my mmpi a month ago and asked if it's been processed yet. The lady told me that theres some sort of bill or debate or something that put a hold on MMPI grading because they're trying to change the way it's graded for ATCers.

interesting? or just some cruel plot to push my class date further back?

Just a heads up to everyone who is waiting for FY2010, BR told me that they should know what the fall class schedule will be sometime in August.
