Did they say that someone could 'adjust' it so you could get geoprefs or no?
 
NO and tha's the problem my work history hasn't changed for wither announcement and there aren't considering me for pub 5 geo pref because of lack of work history! Hello! I am the same person and I have worked the same job for a while now. I think it is def a problem with their computers, at least I got my other prefs though:whatever:
 
The lady I spoke with said they will look into it. I had her read me the time/date stamp from when the work history was updated and it was the same date the pubnat5 app was submitted. That made it click to her that something was maybe wrong. Who know though. My bet is that it get's blown off because there were over 2,000 apps they had to rate.
 
well seeing as its friday and i cant get through to my HR rep i think we are SOL on this matter seeing as monday is the close date.
 
I'm not that mad because I would have still picked the same states for both pref emails. SO at least I got one in. And at least progress is being made. We're approaching the one year mark!
 
im still kinda mad because that means im being passed up for one other state i would have choosen and the fact that the facilty i would like may get filled up just from pubnat5. oh well thats just me being pesimistic just gotta be hopeful that i get choosen and if i dont theres always the military route for me.

My friend is ATC for Navy. He loves it. That is definitely a good idea! If you are young enough and can handle the discipline, go for it!

You should see a message that says something like:

Referral list FA-AAC-09-18019: Issued on 01/08/2009 for the Throughout The Nation duty location at the FG-1 grade/payband.
  • Your application is among those being reviewed by the office with announcement # AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT4-09989. You may or may not be contacted for an interview. Please continue to check back for status updates.

If for some reason you were not selected, you will see a different message. If you were selected and make it through panel selection, you just wait for your HR rep to e-mail you. The message above is the last update you will see on ASAP. From there on out, it's all e-mail and phone calls.
 
When should we expected the referall list to be updated on ASAP? From reading other threads, it sounds like it is updated on there a week before the panel meets??

Ours showed up about a week before panels met.

Thanks, Jerms. I'm staying forever pessimistic through this whole process. :panic:
 
3/4 showed the day that panels met. Panels takes at least a week. The list being out told us that they had begun.
 
What impact does a local facility have on the panels? Say I go an visit a tower I want, will that matter? Granted, my geo prefs just closed out this week for Pubnat 5.

Very little, if any. They can ask for you, but there's no guarantee they'll get you. Since the FAA switched to an HR-based system of recruiting, the facility managers don't get the kind of say they used to.

That said, I went to STL and T75 (St. Louis TRACON) and met the ATM there, and I ended up getting one of the St. Louis area airports. Whether that was coincidence or if there was actually an opening in my first preference of states, I don't know, but I'm happy nonetheless! It definitely wouldn't hurt you to visit a facility, especially because you can ask in-depth questions to see how they operate rather than going in to it blind. I spent 3 hours at the STL tower, 2 at T75, and 4 visiting at BNA (2nd state preference).
 
Been quiet for a while......anyone hear any info? Any new gossip leading to conjectures as to when the next contact will be made?
