Crashpad occupants who think the place for full-time living

I really have a problem with this. I really do. I understand you cannot commute while on reserve from a rural west coast city to LGA as it would be a 3 leg commute, especially since you only have 2 days off in between 6 day reserve stretches, but please, don't think you can get away with it and scam the crashpad owner by only paying $230/mo rent in New York City... and the girl has her own room (at the moment...since everyone else in that room is furloughed).

The place is for commuting the day before or after you have a trip, not for full-time living.

The darn girl has moved in with all her stuff!!!

As soon as I figured it out, I was like "oh heeeyell no!!!"

Girl hogs the house's only bathroom/shower for over an hour and somehow has same report times that I do (and she does mostly 1-day trips...eeek!) and leaves the crashpad a complete pigsty.

End of rant.

Bring it up to the crashpad owner/operator. I know it's not fun to deal with confrontations like this directly, but she's getting away with a LOT, it seems!

When I ran my crash pad in ORD, in the last years I had my own room, but I paid over twice as much in rent as everyone else AND I was the responsible party for upkeep, cleaning & maintenance. That kind of stuff wouldn't have flown in my place...

Fumigate the place for roaches and rodents on a daily basis.

Dude, mind your own business. Unless the crashpad owner gives two s, leave her be.

I would make a big deal about someone making a disgusting mess though.

Oh, and I forgot. The real question is. IS SHE HOT?

Well, I didn't commute. . .but it won't be out of the question in the future.

That being said, if the crashpad owner doesn't have any problem with it then I wouldn't worry about it.

If it was your crashpad, then you could act accordingly.

word

There were several in mine in LGA that lived there...the only problem I see here is she hogs the bathroom, that is the only beef I see.

Re: Crashpad occupants who think the place for full-time liv

I'm leaning towards the "That's between the crashpad owner/operator and her....." group. If that person doesn't mind, then it's really not any of your business how much she's paying.

What is something you could address is a bathroom schedule when you are there. Outside of that, there's really no issue as I can see it.

Just shower with her.

Somehow I don't think that would matter in this case.:D

My girlfriend is an FA, based at JFK. I wish she had two days off between 6 day on periods! She pays $250 per month. She did not move "all her stuff in" but her schedule is 6 on, 1 off, 6 on, 1 off, for most of the month. I wish she was home more, since I am furloughed and home a lot, but at least she has the CP. She has now been gone since March 22 and only had one 4 day trip in there, the rest was at the CP and Ready Reserves.

I was in a crashpad in SJU with this problem. Two of the guys paid double to have their own bed, but this one Embry-Riddle intern was not paying extra, yet was there 6 nights a week (she flew for a check hauler down there and went back to DAB on Saturday nights.)

She was ok looking but you know what? That doesn't matter much when all you want is SLEEP.

I found another place to crash.

Re: Crashpad occupants who think the place for full-time liv

I actually used to live full time in a crash pad.

Seggy's crash pad, to be specific.

I talked it over with the other guy that ran the joint and he talked to Seggy and it was cool. I had no other place to go that point. I had a little more stuff than some folks, but worked it out by building a loft style bed and putting my junk under it.

Our schedules usually meshed pretty well, and when most other people were gone, I was home alone, so nobody cared.

One guy tried to get them to raise the rent on me. He was trying to get them to do that so his rent would be cheaper. Ultimately it was decided that unless space became a serious issue, there was no reason to deny me being there all the time. After all, our share of the collected rent entitled any of us to be there as often as necessary.

As far as the girl being a bathroom hog, lay down the law and tell her she's being rude and to make time for others. If she can't, well, get up early and beat her to the bathroom. Lock her out and make sure she's late once or twice. That'll teach her.

6 on 1 off should be a violation of some kind of human right. I doubt the kids in Cambodia have it that bad. Give up 6 FULL days for the company and only get 24hours off? That's insane.

:yeahthat:

Would you complain if a hot chick was living in your place taking 1 hour showers? I wouldn't. So I say nay.

:yeahthat:yeah, im with velocipede on this one.

It is absolutely my business.

If I am paying X amount of rent for the agreement that I only use the place 4 to 6 nights a month like everyone else does and there is another occupant living there full time but pays the same amount I do, it is not fair to me.

If the owner knows and doesn't care it really isn't your business. If it pains you so much to know that she is living the high life by staying full time in a crash pad..... Yeah move.

I've been on a six on and one off schedule for months now. It sucks!

Thats why the sharing bathroom together should work out great between the two of them!
