Honestly I wasn't able to ask. When the new PUBNAT opens up I will be trying to get back in contact with the person who gave me this info to ask some more questions, and this one is on my list.
As soon as get anything else I will post it here for all to see. I know there were a TON of us from 3&4 that were not selected that are hoping to see a different result in the near future, so any info can help!!!

Hang in there buddy... and I'm not sure whats up with the Barrel. I'll see if I can get more details but we are still on a hire freeze as far as I'm aware of. Tomorrow's the big day, wish me luck and I'll keep you posted.

I emailed to ask my question and this was the answer (i use that word loosely since the answer given wasn't really an answer to MY question).
"The referral list is still open and applicants are being considered for positions as Air Traffic Controllers. The referral list can remain open for up to 6months from the time it was created, which was in Jan. Your patience is appreciated."

I actually asked 5 (!) distinct questions...none of which were really answered
1. Confirm that husband has not been selected for PUBNAT4
2. Are the rumors of the new format of one application being valid for a year true?
3. Who does the new format apply to? 1-4? Starting with 5? Starting with 8?
4. If the new format does not apply to 4s (husbands only application), is there any way he can be "added" to 5,6,7?
5. Since there have been changes to the application, as listed on asap, can he update his application? How?
Based on what she said though, is see no purpose in this new format other that to save them having to send geo pref emails. His application was submitted in June. It took (over) six months to generate the list, and the list is valid for six months...guess what folks...that's a year.
