Bad News....my $6000 share purchase of two years ago has now been deemed worth $4000.

Good News.....with the dropping price of fuel they have again dropped the rates.

(2) C172's $56hr wet-Tach Time
(2) C182's $99hr wet-Tach Time
(2) C210's $129hr wet-Tach Time

What are other people paying for shares in club and hourly rates?

I just sold my share for its value ... $1,300

We have six aircraft. How many/types of planes?

All of ours are equipped with identical nav/com stacks. they have the gns430 WAAS enabled gear.

Hmm, perhaps I should join a flying club out here in AZ...

Too bad AETC shut down our aero club!

Too bad AETC shut down our aero club!

That is too bad. I'm commuting from Indianapolis for my CSEL/CMEL training. I just got back from five days of training there, and my head is still spinning. The operational environment(even in light GA aircraft) down there is very high speed.

I was really surprised they dropped the share price. I would have thought that the liquidation value of the airplanes is higher than that.

On the other hand, I was real happy to see the 182s under $100 again.

We just had one (very nice) 172 for 14 members. Worked out great. We bought the plane for around $70k.

This is all at SYR? I'm paying double that mothly rate over in Rome, and our clubs ONLY airplane (pa28-140) goes for $95 hour.

Jep,

Not far from you in a club at LVN. Shares are selling between $1500 and $2500. Liquidation value would be somewhere around 4k.

Hourly rates for Archers and a 172 wet on the tach is about $73. Cessna 182 RG is about $90. Our rates float as the fuel proce goes up and down.

The $129 and hour for the 210 sounds good. How many hours check out would be required for someone with about 160 retract time?

I think I saw an ad in the paper for a share in your club. The gentleman had and wanted to unload it. The 7 a/c we have are all in great shape with identical nav/com stacks. Makes for a seamless transition should one decide to move up. One less thing to learn.

Cloud 7 I assume?

Bummer about the drop in share price. 4k seems low for 6 airplanes. I'm curious why the drop?

Yankee over at Crystal has an open market share price, which is to say a share is worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. The deal is between the selling member and the buyer, the club has no role (other than to serve as escrow.)

Right after 9/11 they were going for less than 2k, a few years later they probably averaged $3,200-$3,500. The liquidation value has held steady at around 6k.

Now, well, shares aren't selling quickly at all, at least at the price folks are looking for.

2 172s, $81/hr wet (tach)
1 182RG, $115/hr wet (tach)
1 SR-20, $115/hr wet (hobbs)

Monthly dues are $95.

Everything has G430Ws, the 182 and Cirrus have Stec-30 autopilots with GPSS.

Oh, and if you're looking to join my share is for sale. :) Been over a year since I've flown an airplane for pleasure.

Cloud7 you are correct.

Not looking to join, I am looking to sell. The drop in price is just due to people not flying. I guess there are 10+ people looking to sell. Planes not flying and fixed costs are fixed.....

That being said, I believe they dropped so try and stimulate some interest in the club and bring some $$$ in. The share price had been $6200.

Fox Flying Club, KDPA www.foxflying.com

$450 initiation with $200 credit towards flying. $85 a month to include 1 heated hangar, 1 unheated hangar, and 1 tie-down. That was a big selling point for me as I knew my flight training would take me into the winter months...and is STILL taking me into the winter months. :)

1980 C-172P = $90/hr wet Tach
2001 C-172SP = $102/hr wet Tach
1980 Arrow IV = $114/hr wet Tach

The rates are adjusted quarterly now, and originally it was $65/hr wet Tach for the C-172P based on $2.60/gal fuel prices. Right now, the fuel prices are $3.26/gal here, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the prices drop again next month.
