Sales tax is outrageous too. I think in Los Angeles sales tax is over 9%...but I could be mistaken.

I know there are several places where sales tax is over 8%.

Our property taxes are pretty high too. Somewhere around 1.25% in most places, which is a lot of money considering our property values.
Just as bad here in WA. 8.8% in this county. No income tax in WA though so that's nice. BTW nice avatar lol.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't even think our state taxes were all that high without our income tax, but when you pile it all together it's huge. I would much rather have a little higher sales tax, and no state income tax...or federal tax for that matter. It would encourage savings as you wouldn't have to pay taxes on it until it is spent. It would also ensure that 90% of gray and black market moneys are taxed.

I kinda wanted the Pac Northwest, but given the last round, I heard that little to no one got it. :(

Anyone hear of anything differently? I know we all come here to vent, share success, etc etc (kind of like our very own AA ;)) but anyone else hear from someone or about someone who got the Pac NW outside of JC?

zz :)

I got it :) but on pubnat1 not on 2. Pubnat2 they offered me ZOA if that helps. I chose to stay with SEA.

My top choice is Seattle. Preferably center or tracon, but anything will do. I considered CA too, but after having lived in Los Angeles for most of last year, I think the Pacific Northwest is more my speed. :) But LA was great!

my choices would be louisiana/georgia.

however after karina(deadly hurricane that blew up louisiana and mississippi for those northerners.), i decided to move somewhere far far away.

i was thinking seattle.

so uh... how is it?

lmaoo

karina is my supervisors name

i guess i had work on the mind:rolleyes:

but dark, gloomy, and rainy?

the only difference from here would be the cold

If you like rain, cold, gloomy days alot of days out of the year, you are good!

Don't forget your poncho. ;)

zz :)
And don't forget that people drive like absolute morons up here. Seriously, if we have more than 2 sunny days in a row, EVERYONE forgets how to drive in the rain! And God help us if it snows. They close the schools if we get an inch.

im going for california as well. i left once i joined the airforce and im trying to get back now. hope i can afford it

You know I used to think that bad drivers were just allocated to specific areas of the US, but I spent over 70k miles in the air this year alone for work and I have to tell you, bad drivers are pretty much everywhere ;)

I don't think there is a "throughout the nation" option.

Heh, the "throughout the nation" applies to the FAA only when someone chooses CA and GA and gets ZME ;)

zz :)

ya the whole ZME scare makes me want to put terminal only.

ZME must be uber understaffed if theyre making people who didnt even put tennessee as a preference go there.
