... any part 91 captains out there want to give a fresh part 91 newbie a few pointers? PM me...

I know it's a strange request but I'd rather not air out my dirty laundry on a public forum..
 
You are new to part 91 ops? All of your flight training would have been conducted under pt 91 unless you are military. What pointers are you looking for?
 
Sure!

Dont touch nothin unless the Captain tells you to.
If youre good at getting the ice, coffee, and newspapers, you might get to talk on the radio and operate the landing gear.
You might get to fly if the auto pilot breaks, but you cannot under any circumstance do any take offs or landings. (those are for captains only)

Hows that?
 
Keep your mouth shut. The owner may act like your best friend at times, but remember at the end of the day he is your boss. He most likely didn't become a multi millionaire because he or she was an idiot, so don't try and them as they will see right through you. Also, don't offer any information to them unless you are certain it is correct information. No what if's (outside of weather and mx).

Oh, and watch how many extra responsibilities you volunteer yourself for. You may feel like your getting a leg up, but you will regret it when you become the boss's personal ground chauffeur.

Seriously though, best advice I was ever given was to just keep my mouth shut, and do my job to the best of my ability.
