Your flight aware track...

I was sitting in my office watching this develop, so it was fun. Business trip to KC last summer, I got to leave the day before but had to go to work, so we had this up on a PC to our great amusement as this developed. The plane came from EWR, left an hour late, diverted to SGF, and had to make this end run over Texas to get around the line. Meanwhile most of the bars at the airport closed, and they were asked to leave the bar that was still open, so my co-workers started calling people from the vendor to bring out food... They got back to CLE at like 0200 & boss made them come in that day.

Awe was the poor ERJ gonna get wet? Goodness

No kidding...

Well in their defense, that is just a radar capture at one point during their flight, it may have been different during.... or it was turbulent as all hell for whatever reason.

This wasn't really bad...nice little light show on approach. The fun factor was that it was at night into a pretty mountainous airport.

Oh, here's a good one from my XJT days (message from dispatch after a diversion to AUS):

Ahh, I miss ACARS. Makes life so ridiculously easy.

It seemed worse than this. I was trying to get to KHHW (Hugo, OK) and had to go way east a ways but about when I got abeam it I saw a huge lightning bolt to the west and at the same time the Hugo AWOS went offline, then came back up: "Wind MISSING Visibility MISSING Ceiling MISSING" :p

Thanks. Ride wasn't bad if I remember right, occasional light to moderate maybe? We were at 360 I think.

ANyone still have that G V one? There was one of a G V and the spelled out G V in the skies. Looked way cool on the tracker.

I had some pretty hardass ones back in the day. They're gone, now, just like my cred. To be clear, they weren't any tougher than some of those above.

Now my tailnumber is blocked and we fly around anything wet. You, too, will be a former toughguy one day. Enjoy it (such as you're able) while it lasts.

When I worked at Hawker, the Production Pilots doing flight test cold soaks on the 4000 they needed hundreds of hours on the flight test so they did flight paths over airports and waypoints that made the Hawker head outline, saw the track on Flightaware once, haven't seen it since.
