Your biggest Pet Peeves

I got barked at for standing in the arc of the propeller while the key wasn't clearly visible on the dash...

On a 1900.

This is one of the most interesting threads I've ever read. Hilarious. It's a trip how similar most of the posts are. I'll give mine I guess:

1. The driving slow and not passing in the fast lane thing.

2. Pilots who say "checking in" or "with you". No really a big deal, just totally unnecessary.

3. Pilots who read back more than there call sign or "Roger" when told something other than a clearance, altitude, speed or a heading. Stop talking so much on the radio already!

4. Pilots who taxi with their strobes on or flaps fully extended.

5. Most of my other ones have been posted already.

Don't leave out the "weekend warriors".

"Atlanta approach, Cessna niner one niner SHOOGA POP looking for a practice EYE ELLL A-YEESS to 9R, OVER?"

Wrong on SO many levels...

3. Weak coffee: I need the caffeine, and I want to taste it.

4. Weak mojitos: I want the alcohol, and I need to taste it.

YEEEEEEEEEHAWWWW!!!!

People that make no attempt to assimilate into American culture, or speak English while being a resident. (legal or not)

35 Year Old women out for girls night out at Mexican resturants. <Screaming at the top of their lungs> "COME ON GIRLS! IT's LEMON DROP TIME! AND GIVE CINDY THE BIG HAT! IT'S HER TURN TO WEAR THE BIG HAT HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE"

Anyone male that fake tans, waxes eyebrows, has a blowout haircut and wears tight shirts with cursive writing on it.

Anyone that is American born and claims to be 100% Italian, yet can't tell you a thing about Italy's people, culture, history, language etc....(I love asking them to sing...or even hum the national anthem....That shouldnt be too hard when your 100% right?)

Shaving

People talking while your at your campus's library studying for mid terms.

People listening to music on their head phones while at the library, loud enough for the entire library to hear.

Worn out socks.....Lets be honest. A new pair of socks is almost as good as sex....HAHA

People who will only take shots of yeagermesftster (sp). (Come on buddy. Your not 18 anymore)

1,000 hour 50 year old private pilots who try and talk down to young guys starting a career in aviation.

NDB Holds

DME Arc

Pilots flying alone that have to always reply on the radio with "We"

Chitty fuel sumps that don't stop sumping

Running into people from high school that you can't stand anymore. The next time an "old friend" asks "how are you doing...whats new", he's done for. I'm gonna make up a 50 minute sob story. Teach you to ask me how i'm doing! haha.

What else....Entourage should be longer than 30 minutes....

thats it I guess.

People who know everything, if you did it, they've done it (better), if you have been there, they've been there (at least twice), anything you are going through, they've been there, done that. Uuuuugh!!!! drives me crazy!!!!!!!!

I agree.

Oh, and big planes that cut in front of little planes just because they can. :)

UNLESS, of course, it's a good microbrew. I would apply your #6 only to megabrews.....
Good point! I've just been innundated with associating "domestic" to the bar and restaurant specials:
Waitress: "$2 domestics tonight!"
Me: "Sweet! I'll have a Sam Adams."
Waitress: "Oh, that one doesn't count."
Me: "Ah. Of course not. That would be too.... lucky."

(ok, that last line is from a movie. Triple bonus cool points to whoever gets it.)

Alex, the question is, "What is 'Lawrence of Arabia.'"

People who wear Bluetooth headsets when they don't need a free hand to answer the phone with (walking down the street, in a store, at a restaurant dinner table).

I remember stopping at a rest stop and was standing next to a man looking at a big map of the state we were in. He was talking and I asumed he was talking to me. He indicated he was tired of driving and that he was about done for the night. I indicated to him that I too was tired and that it sounded like a good idea. As he turned to hear what I was saying to him, I realized he had a bluetooth in his ear and was talking to someone else. He looked at me like "who the hello are you talking to dumba$$?"

I was so embarassed. Dammnn bluetooths anyway.

  1. People who can't figure out how to keep to the right when walking down an aisle or hallway
  2. People who don't believe in germs
  3. People...

Aww crap, I got a lot of problems with people... :bandit:

That one time on SLC approach that the controller responded with "oh my heck..."
Consider yourself lucky, after living among the Utards for 15 years, I actually said it a few weeks ago:eek::eek::eek::eek:. I was just trying to watch my language around some children and it slipped. I felt like I had to wash my mouth out with soap. I feel so ashamed.

I hate it when you have a doctor or dentist appointment and after arriving on time, you sit there for an hour or more waiting for them to get to you.
