Your airline and Military leave

Interesting. It seems to me that your employer's policies are in conflict with each other. On the one hand, they base your guarantee on being available for the entire month, and on the other hand they guarantee you X amount of days off each month, which is another way of saying you don't have to be available for the entire month. Somehow those policies have to be reconciled with each other.

Barring that, it seems to me there are a few ways to handle this. 1) Allow military personnel first choice to trade with open time so as to meet both their military and civilian duty commitments; 2) Chose to pick up extra days of civilian duty to make up for the time lost to military duty; 3) Forgo the pay that goes with the lost civilian time.
