Young Pilot what to do???

Met a local pilot (early 20's) in a class I'm taking and he isn't aware I'm a pilot. He is telling the class of his work in the CAP and flying the mighty military aircraft from the national guard base locally. The aircraft are the mighty C172 and C182. He mentioned riding in the C130.

Not wanting to burst his bubble, but I'm unsure his to handle. Ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Bitch-slap him and be done with it!

He talked it up today about getting through TSA with his uniform and had a lapel on of the air force academy. He told of getting GED in 10th grade and going out to the Academy. It's comical and I am not even prompting him.

Guess I should tell him I have hundreds of hours in the might C172 and C182 myself. 8).

Does he wear his flight suit to class, too?
I think the Corleone approach might be the best in this scenario.

Just let him be. Eventually you will be obligated in a discussion to bring it up that you're a pilot, and you may get asked how much experience you have. Then he would feel really dumb knowing you for a few months to find out you're a pilot.

Ugh.

Never, ever mention you're a pilot in Daytona Beach, either—somewhat related...

Well today it was 100% better. LOL. Found out he is NOT a pilot (only a few hours in a 172) and a volunteer to CAP. Flown S&R with them. Volunteered at AFA in Colorado. Never attended AFA. Talked of going Emergency Services (all volunteer) I think I found TomCatter (or what ever the screenname was). When I asked him a few basic questions he couldn't talk his way out if it I quietly told him I'm a corp pilot (ok a little heavy for me, but basically true) and that he doesn't need to misrepresent himself. He we wants to bd s pilot get back into it.

Oh the fun. We will see what next week brings.

Kids........

I've had more than one person ask me "If you're a pilot, why do you never have the uniform on when I see you?". There is so much wrong with said statement I've been dumbfounded and just ended up laughing at the person with no explanation. When almost none of your friends are pilots or even involved in aviation, you tend to get some very interesting, honest questions.
I get this one all the time:

Them: Do you fly big jet airplanes?
Me: Nope, just props.
Them: So you're not a real pilot then?
Me: Well I'm single, have no money, and stayed at a holiday inn express more than once, so I think I'm a real pilot.

I was jump seating home on VX yesterday when the lady asked me "Oh, you're one of those like private pilots, right?" I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when I found out she listed me for the Vegas flight instead of Chicago too....
