Nah, there's always something dubstep on the hypemachine. It won't ever die completely because of electro-house. They fit pefectly by bpm. Drum'n'bass too to some extent. I think dubstep, by it's purist definition is dead yes, but most everything else in the electronic music world has been infected by the wobbles and beat patterns.

According to my friend there, it is still going on. There was wind issues last night.
What I am waiting for is the 48 hour rock festival in Las Vegas.
It got shut down about 0200 sunday morning, but then it ramped back up sunday afternoon. The people that had one-day tickets for saturday can get in Sunday as well and there were (are?) double fireworks going on.
I should go as "Black Super Mario" next year.

What's going on in rock these days? I turned away from rock when Seether and Nickleback started becoming popular. I guess I've honestly I've been more of an industrial rock fan, NIN and Manson to name a couple, and they aren't doing jack under those names these days. MSI is touring still at least.

I actually think rock is starting to get a bit better these days. Shinedown is amazing as always, and I have been into Five Finger Death Punch lately. Just a couple I have been listening to. Oh, and Lacuna Coil is awesome!

The Foo Fighters have been recognized lately, which gives me faith in humanity!

I got tired of rock music when the sound turned from crazy cocaine induced melodies to merely "der der derrrrrrr... der der daderrrr" with some mindless double kick pattern instead of complex poly rhythms. I mean, I'm tempted to turn to country music for some honest to goodness real music played with actual instruments these days! ALMOST

If you are into Southern rock check out Black Stone Cherry. They are great! P.O.D. has a new CD coming out, and I am really liking the new single. Somehow I forgot to mention Chevelle. Their new CD is freaking amazing!

Will check it out. I will, however, forever associate the word "cherry" with all that was terrible with Buckcherry, so it's gonna take something absolutely amazing to delete that from my brain! haha

As a drummer, it doesn't help that in my CFI days I was room mates with a decent bassist and very talented guitarist. No singer, but the ladies don't care when they're hammered.
We played crazy b#$%^ enough that I could play that in my sleep I bet! Not that it was complicated by any means. haha

In North Dakota, DEFINITELY! I'm convinced if you drive a pickup truck and play guitar(particularly pop rock/country), you can have any girl you want up there! I drove a BMW M3 and played drums(mostly heavy/black/death metal), so I was SOL a lot of the time.
