Yes JC, there truly is a God: Skybus is dead!

OH is NOT the place to be looking for a job! I hope that our SkybusPilot here at JC will comment, as well as wish him good luck in finding another position. I know he indicated trying to help get a union on property. Think this could of also been a reason to close the doors?

No. A union has nothing to do if an airline goes into bankruptcy.

Look at their business model. It was failed to doom here in the states, especially with oil at $100+ dollars a barrel

I agree the model as bad from the start, just knowing how some other businesses have run to close when a union was threatened (manufacturing & retail type companies, not airlines) I wondered if they decided to make it early.

But when 200+ families are now scrambling for the basic necessities in life during an economic downturn in Ohio of all places, I think it's pretty unclassy to go pissing on their graves.

I feel sorry for the families, but not for the pilots. The pilots got just what they deserve.

Skybus wages:

$65k for Airbus Captains
$30k for Airbus FOs

No second year pay raises, no union, pilots forced to go to Costco to buy bottled water for themselves, etc....

PCL, I am calling you out here.

You have no right to judge skybust pilots for lowering any bars, when you yourself worked hard in your career to lower it yourself.

You are playing in a glasshouse with a "holier than thou attitude".

Oooooh, you're calling me out?! How scary. :laff:

Get back to me when you've spent years doing union work. Then we can talk about who contributed to the profession.

He's the regional-FO who blames everyone else for "lowering the bar" who has moved onto greener pastures. It's actually almost comical. From Flightinfo, to JC, to APC, he's ragging on skybus guys every chance he gets.

Forgive me for not reading the 200 posts if it was already said, but why is there such hatred towards Skybus? Just curious.

A search of the word "skybus" should bring up all the threads about skybus and what people here think of it.

Bottom line, they've gone under now. So, is there really any need to bicker about how they "brought the profession down"? Their business model DIDN'T work!

Actually if the union cheerleaders are going to prevent these guys from getting jobs later down the line, it still is very much a big issue.

Hypocrite's are really pretty disgusting, because they look in a mirror and see an altered reality. And then operate based on that perception.

See Elliot Spitzer for details.

Thank Goodness.

Good Riddance.

"...Going to see my mom and sister, taking them out for dinner tonight, all for $31.80."

"Less than'll spend on dinner huh!?"

DUH ROCKET SCIENTISTS!

Wow.

Not that I would have ever been a fan of their business model, but it might have worked if fuel was somewhere around $20 barrel.

But nevertheless. . .whatever. Over and done with.
