Damn... my career goals and dreams have been crushed! i guess im just gonna have to settle for GoJet, oh well

:sarcasm:Any guesses as to how long Neeleman's non-compete is?

Next time the market heats up and there is some pricing traction, there will be a revelation that airfares are overpriced, and the travelling public needs to be freed from the draconian grasp of airlines for a refreshing travel experience.

This new entity will have nice shiney airplanes (prolly the NG single aisle airbus or 737 since all the airlines are going to reduce their capital spending for the next 5 years), promise a new, low stress experience, all for a fare less than any of "today's" carriers can provide.

It will probably be point-to-point from some under-utilized hub with an underserved market (PIT or STL anyone).

Then the legacies will put single class seats in their turdball narrowbody fleets (excpet NWA, the DC-9 will not get repainted). Paint silly logos on the planes, have bright interiors, and goofy ad campaigns.

Nahh....couldn't happen that way...could it?
PIT has been a graveyard of airline startup plans that never made it to certification or only lasted a year. There's been at least two plans in the last few years since USAir abandoned their hub. In the nineties, there was Jettrain (among a few others) that actually started up but hardly lasted a year because at the time USAir aggressively fought them off to maintain their monopoly on a market they would later abandon. (heh, airline managers make sense, don't they?). Air Tran circa 2000 wanted to make Pittsburgh into a hub of sorts, but again that was fought off by an aggressive USAir.

Now I can change my avatar! Yay! I should release it to the press. Made use MS Paint!

The business plan was a failure from the beginning and they stood no chance of success. I wonder how much the CEO made off with a couple weeks ago before he bailed to work on his bookwriting career.

Like said above, I do not think VA is going anywhere for now. Richards is just too wealthy and has many many resources, I mean this is making like his 3rd airline right? Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Nigeria, Virgin America?

Fifth, Virgin Express out of Brussels (now merged with someone else), and Virgin Blue in Australia.

And Virgin Sun, a charter airline he created.

Don't forget about Virgin Galactic.

Re: Skybus is DONE-Z0

Good riddnace. Any pilot who went there gets what he/she deserved.

WOW.

I guess that means finally the terminals i have to walk through where they fly will finally not resemble a cluster **** bus station anymore. Granted many terminals aren't amazing....but this will be a step up.

What a welcome change.

Re: Skybus is DONE-Z0
