"ExpressJet offered us the most competitive bid, enabling us to continue to operate efficiently in this difficult environment."

"We are pleased that our commitment to exceptional operational performance coupled with a highly competitive economic model provided ExpressJet the opportunity to offer replacement flying for United Airlines under a multi-year arrangement," said Jim Ream - president and chief executive officer of ExpressJet. I guess this means less Xjet guys off the street.:) But I'm sure it means more Mesa guys will take their place.:(

The details are...non-existent...but some wild guesses are that 22 planes isn't enough to need any recalls.

I'm happy to be non-union.

I'm no longer at SkyWest, but here is a small list of the trend of things lost there:

* Pilot Bonus Program
* Reserve
o Ready Reserve (Supposed to be temporary for the Olympics)
o Bucket System
o Other QOL issues
* ESPP (Stock purchase program changes)
* PPO
* De-ice Pay
* Re-position Pay
* $200 for Delta Travel
* $200 for United Travel
* $70 per sim for non-citizens
* $50 Holiday Bonus
* 12lb to $12 Turkey

They don't call him Chip Away Childs for nothing. Good luck to my friends still there...

In reference to ExpressJet getting the flying over someone like skywest? Yes. Even happier that it's an airline with a good contract.

I agree with the latter part of your statement. I think this gives us (pinnacle) more leverage when asking for better pay.

But just because skywest isnt union doesnt make them the enemy. The have better work rules than most union regionals. In our current contract talks, RAH and Mesa's CBA has hurt us more than SKywest's has.

I am glad I am ALPA. however its not a magic pill, nor a cure for cancer. let how Management treats you determine whether you need a union or not. Not just so you can wear an ALPA lanyard. I dont want to start the whole union debate again, but i think people say "rah rah union", just to be part of the crowd here on http://forums.jetcareers.alpa.com.

WTF
First - De-icing for dollars is the only way I made it on first year pay.
Second - If I am doing something that I can get fired in the act of doing it I better be getting paid to do it.
