Agreed on that point. I don't like country music, but I don't hate (all) red-necks. I don't like opera, but I don't hate fat people (
- sorry, bad joke). I appreciate a good show tune, but I'm not gay.
It's a shame that society stereotypes people simply by the music they listen to, when in fact the majority of white kids today (at least the ones I was close to through coaching for six years) listen PRIMARILY to rap.
That said - and if you don't like this next comment, tough - I'm squarely in that group that detests sitting at a red light or in my house and being BOMBARDED by the bass from someones car.
Great that you like your muic, but I don't have to listen to it. Turn the crap down!
I could care less if you're black, white, yellow, purple, green or futia with orange poka dots - there is absolutely NO reason for me to have to hear your music - IN MY HOUSE/CAR or worst yet .... FEEL IT in my house/car.
If you're in the group that thinks you're gonna get laid by some hot chick by having your bass pumping in your car - ask yourself this: When was the last time you were driving down the street with the bass pumping and some female you didn't know jumped in your car, dirobed and began to service you?
Didn't happen, did it? Guess what? It's never gonna.
