Want to Buy WTB Lightspeed Zulu

Did you try the squelch? I have seen bose headsets have the same type of problem and it just takes a squelch adjustment to fix it.

I did not try squelch. I will see if that at works tomorrow. On the ground when the headset is not plugged into anything there is still an odd vibration in the left ear of the headset when it is not on a very small portion of my head.

Payment plan for a gee whiz headset? I hope I never see any of you complaining about the horrible debt burden foisted on young pilots...

I dont think there is that big of a problem with going about it this way. You just need to be smart with your money and set aside the required amount each month. Someone who is not responsible with their money might have an issue, but I understand where you are coming from. The younger generation is living in a world of financing and for some it can become quite an issue.

Oddly enough when I got them there was a terrible fluttering noise on the takeoff roll, climbout, and parts of cruise. This mostly happens in the left ear, but sometimes in the right. I have tried adjusting the position on my head and it still does not work. Anybody else have this problem?

Just for info, your not wearing sunglasses are you? The first time I wore sunglasses with the Zulu, the ear seals didn't seal on my head and caused a bad fluttering sound. I now know to wear the sunglasses at an angle so the ear seals can seal properly.

Damn I wish they would advertise that payment plan. I looked around and was hoping they had one when i bought mine about a month ago. I even went to retailers to try to find a retailer with payment plans so I could build some credit up instead of taking a $850 dent in my account.

I had one of the old series 25 or 33 Lightspeeds that did the same thing brand new - called them and they fixed no problem. Lightspeed stands behind their products and I have never had an issue with them fixing anything; on the odd case where there was an issue.

When I had my issue it was in the microphone which supplies the input to the noise cancelling or with the noise cancelling circuit - something like that.

So just to confirm, some of you have been able to trade in your old lightspeeds for the trade-in credit, pay the $250 up front and have the rest billed monthly? Just curious if you can combine their "secret" payment plan with the trade-in offer.

If so, I'll have some Zulu's in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I called them and they are sending me a larger head cushion which might tighten the seal between my ear and the earmuff. They even shipped them 2nd day air so hopefully I can see if they work soon.

Also, I am pretty sure that they would work out something like that with the payment plan combined with the trade up. They seem to be pretty helpful.

Thinking of selling mine. I have been very careful with them and it shows. PM me if you are interested.

Just tried, they do not combine the trade-up with the monthly billing. And the Monthly billing is a down payment of $300 and then $50 a month.
