how much is the written test for PPL anyways?

I paid $70 for it.

Some places subtract 10% if you are a member of AOPA.

is CATS the only available way to take the test? i have been to Catstest.com and it seems as though there are other means of taking the test.

if you show your AOPA membership card for a CATS test it will only cost you 80 it usually runs 90. There is also lasergrade that administers the FAA writtens too, but i m not sure if they do the AOPA discount.
