Wow...

I bet their butt was chewing a hole in the seat on that one! That could have been much worse than it turned out. I am surprised they didn't go around though, unless they had an issue such as fuel or something else that would have kept them from doing so.

? They did, a little late but they went around none the less.

?

Where did that saying come from?

I know about sucking up a seat cushion, but never a butt "chewing" anything.

I can't really remember where I got that one from Hacker. I am pretty sure that my old instructor that I had when I was getting my private used to say that one. I always kinda thought it was catchy.

Interesting...I thought a military career had taught me just about all the ways to describe stuff like that, but then a post like this comes along and teaches a new one, heh heh.

It is kinda funny you mention that Hacker, my instructor was a 70 year old ex air force instructor/eastern 727 captain. He was actually a T-38 instructor, I believe he has some C-130 time as well. He was a very knowledgeable guy, I still try to give him a call when I can and catch up with him. I really enjoyed flying with him during my primary stuff and I could ask him about any airplane we saw and he could tell me anything about it.
